We had a seafood platter (delux) for 2. It was $75 Australian dollars, fed two hungry adult women and we had leftovers (heaps) to take home. There was nothing I could say against this, if it had langoustines I may have done cartwheels.

If you fancy fish and chips, or anything else from the menu and you want to sit somewhere comfortable watching the water then this is the place. Friendly service, good quality food and a great view what more could you ask!

Sat early for dinner the other night watching sun setting over boats and a seal amusing itself in the sea under our table on the deck. Crayfish were on special offer and a good plate was washed down with cold beer. Holiday informal dining does not get a whole lot better than this!

Don't know what's happened but the magic has waned here at one of our all time favourite places! The views are still great and the food is OK, but the atmosphere has sunk without trace. Where is Gandolf and the rest of the old crew....not as it was and many better places to eat in the republic.

We booked a table way in advance, but not even a friendly good evening or smile from the half naked (blouse opened as far as her navel) hostess on the eve of our visit. Anyway we waited while tabled were shoveled together. Waiting staff not attentive and unfriendly and droopy!!!! Food was OK. Oysters, fresh, deep-fried calamari - forget it!... More

A long time before I got any attention despite the restaurant being partly empty. One beer cost 45 rand! I use to like but won't go again; I think it's becoming a tourist honey trap. There are better alternatives in Hout Bay that won't rip you off.

The Lookout Deck Hout Bay is most definately not a 'Tourist Honey Trap', our Wine List & Menu cater for both locals and toursits alike. We have a range of Beers on Tap, local Draught Beer starting ar R26.50 for 500ml, it is unfortunate that you selected Stella Artois, which is a fully Imported Beer, and is priced higher than... More

Sometimes everything turns out to be perfect. We had arrived in Hout Bay on the Hop On Hop Off bus just at lunch time. We decided to walk further down the harbour past the initial group of restaurants. Further down the harbour we found the Yacht Club and inside was the Lookout Deck Restaurant. We managed to get a table... More
