Interesting!

A pretty basic place - you queue to order your food and then it comes in a paper bag and you go and find somewhere to sit. We had hake and chips and the fish was delicious - the chips were OK. Don't go if you you're a hygiene freak! There was a very interesting mix of people frequenting this... read more

Heard lot of good things so we went in to order the house specialty: fish and chips and fried calamari.....so disappointing.... it all went to the garbage.... the fries were not cooked... hake and calamari so greasy it was disgusting....fingers covered in oil....not to mention the ketchup and the seasonings left outside in the sun for hours.... will definitely not... The food plays a very big part, but as with most places the location is as important. Can't imagine a more perfect spot to enjoy freshly made fish & chips!

Lived in Hout Bay for nearly 30yrs and ate there often. This month we went with family twice and it wasn't good. Quality has reduced and prices increased hugely. It is a destination spot so very disappointing when calamari was tough and fish was tiny. Sorry, won't be seeing me again.

Wow a small little dive could offer so much value and great taste, a real treat without the expensive pricing... Freshest hake and chips Eva!!!!

have been to this place after ten years and the food is still as good as it was back then. Ordered the Hake, Calamari and Chips. This was the freshest seafood served.

This is an definitely a dive, hole in the wall kinda place. Quite dodgy looking, however once you get past that, you have to queue to order food. We had some snoek, hake, calamari and Yellow Tail. The Fish was absolutely fantastic. Snoek is a Cape Town delicacy and a must try. The fish that I ate here was among... More

Away from the main harbor, lots of locals, been many times but never ceases to impress. Fresh fish, sustainable fish, served from paper on long benches with the seagulls whirling above and the local fishing boats coming in and out. There is a sign saying "don't feed the seals" but this was ignored by the cook, and unlike the tourist... More

The best fresh hake and snoek that I've tasted.... Crispy on the outside and deliciously soft on the inside... and to add to the beauty of this place is that the take out is halaal with no achohol served on the premises... The vibe and ambiance with a view of ocean and mountains is excellent and a must for anyone... More
