It is a no frills fish and chips place, but we were not expecting that both me and my sister would get sick from the food. I don't think we will ever go back again. The fish is way to greasy for those of us who don't often put oil/utter/marg etc with food. We were told this is the place... More

On a sunny day, when you sit outside and watch the sea, it's a lovely place to be. The fish and chips are good, reasonably priced, and quickly prepared. Parking available, although it can get busy. The little indoor market nearby is worth a look as well, and we enjoy walking on the pier and seeing the seals (who have... More

it's not really a restaurant, but you're able to sit outside and enjoy the very good fish and chips. Join the queue, order and wait for your number call. When you use it as a take-away, go to the adjacent rocks and eat your hake, snoek, prawn or whatever just near the old guns of Hout Bay. Very good quality... More

This is our favorite outing to enjoy the best fish or seafood you can get. Whether it is hake, snoek or calamari - always fresh and well prepared, the best. The 24 Prawn platter for 4 is excellent - a pity they do not offer a smaller version for 2! We just love the outing and vibe

Go there for a tasty snack, it's easy to park over there. Most of the time it's windy and it's not the most beautiful restaurant but the food is good and the service goes fast!

For a homesick English girl I had to find a nice fish and chip shop for a Sunday afternoon in Cape Town. As fish and chip shops go this is a good experience. Yes, the queues are long if you are going at peak time but it's worth the wait to eat them sitting on the rocks looking out at... More

A symbolic little restaurant, but without which the touring of the cape peninsula is incomplete. Its attractive appearance, a small red hut, adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, well housed in Hout Bay is immediately appealing. Once you're inside, the large array of seafood available is mouth watering. We chose to have tiger prawns /snoek and chips, and they were really... More

If you do not have fish and chips here - you have not been to Cape Town. Its an experience. The seagulls always perform thier best and the fish is fresh and wonderful!

Fish on the Rocks offers good value for your money. The portions are big, fish is great but the chips were the English style (big fat and soft). We prefer our chips the french fry style. Service is fast (it was not busy when we were there). There are 2 sides to the location. It has fantastic views but it... More
