So disappointed!

We were really looking forward to dinner here but left disappointed. Complimentary appetiser was delicious but downhill after that. Mixed feelings about this restaurant. The ambiance was nice and service friendly and efficient. The downside was the tasting menu where a lot of dishes were bland or heavy. One of the starters was a foie gras dish with an extremely sweet wine. This was common in the eighties, but these days this sort of combination just kills your further... More

This restaurant was fantastic- the Oysters were unbelievably good as was the filet steak. Friends had the 5 course tasting menu that they raved about. Our server Esra was outstanding. Will return.

We ate here with friends. We had booked well in advance and were seated inside as it was a chilly night next to the large glass window looking into the kitchen. The chef greeted us with a wink as we were seated at our table! The food was delicious! All four of our party had starters and mains which we... More

There's nothing that beats sitting outside in a courtyard, having lunch and your favorite glass of wine. It's like sitting in your own garden and having a relaxed lunch with your love ones. Quiet area, delicious food and attentive service. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in Franschhoek.

Beautifully presented dishes which are both exciting and delicious. The price is very fair, the atmosphere pleasant and relaxed (and fun! check out the lamps made out of kitchen utensils!) and the staff both professional and very sweet. They got us a table despite being fully booked (we had been to four different restaurants before Le Bon Vivant took pity... More

My husband and I enjoyed 2 early dinner meals here. Be sure to make a reservation. This is a favorite with locals, and fills up fast. The restaurant is on a quiet street, just off the main street. It has dining inside, outside on the covered porch, or outside in the courtyard. We opted for the porch which was pleasant... More

We had a fabulous meal here last night. High Ights were the Beetroot sorbet amuse bouche, the soufflé and the lamb main course. Wines by the glass are plentiful and well priced. For us a highlight in a town filled with great restaurants. Can't wait to come back.

Each year this place gets better. A wonderful menu with so many fine dishes. When the food came the presentation was a good as in any Capital Cities finest Restaurants. The flavours and inventiveness on the plate were incredible. A large wine list was also availed. Staff professional and friendly. All in all a superb evening.

As always we arrived early and got a lovely table. And we got their very best waitress! Absolutely super! Sorry that we don't remember her name. And the food - how to describe the meal? Absolutely excellent! We have been there several times and whatever dish we choose it's always super! Summary: Perfect!
