There are two branches of this restaurant, one at a vineyard and the other in the village. We tried both and found them excellent. We particularly commend the chefs on the presentation of the food. The salad at the vineyard was a work of art- its was a pity to have to eat it and spoil the design! Excellent meals... More

We loved Le Bon Vivant. I made a booking via their website and it worked. We were given a lovely table near the fire place as it was a very wet and cold evening. The service was 5 star. Wine selection very good and very reasonable too. You can watch the chefs preparing the food and they do interact with... More

This was the second time we had been here for dinner. The place was packed so best to reserve a table. The portions were large and delicious. I started with the tempura prawns the beef main course. My wife had the trio of soups followed by lamb. We will eat here again next time we are in the area.

Culinary entertainment at it's best! Garden of Eden flavour combinations. Immaculate presentation. Wine pairing perfect. Ambience and decor fun and entertaining. Had the fam over from Aus and had a feast/whale of a time they would certainly write home about twice!!

There are lots of very nice restaurants in Franschhoek but what a lovely recommendation by a fellow visitor to the Tram Wine tour. The service was prompt and courteous and food really freshly prepared and a variation to their menu was effortlessly accommodate. Portions are very generous and beautifully presented ; a mini desert in place of the menu was... More

We ate there last weekend and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. My partner had the 5 course suprise menu with wine pairing, which was interesting and very tasty. I can recommend the prawn starter and pork main, the crackling is to die for! Service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommened.

Le Bon Vivant it within walking distance of nearly everywhere in Franschhoek which explains why it is always busy. The food is presented beautifully which enhances the tastiness of the dishes even more. It is a good venue for summer and winter months- in summer you sit outside under the trees sipping a chilled Sauvignon Blanc and in winter you... More

The food was really excellent although starters and desserts are expensive. Great service and lovely ambiance. Highly recommend this venue.
