Four of us visited the restaurant and were lucky enough to be seated at a table where we could see the chefs preparing. The food was beautifully and creatively presented but the taste of the food was just too bland for our liking. We all had the 5 course menu and excluding the dessert, all the dishes were bland with... More

I was walking past the shop when the chef arrived and introduced himself. Eventually ended staying for dinner with a friend. All I can say is, WOW! What an experience. Staff very friendly and knowledgable. Food was top shelf! Definitely worth a visit...

2 fine cuisine amuses. Maincourse Duck was magnificent, best ever had. Really juicy. Springbok combination with "sukade" jammy. Very reasonable prices in this restaurant centrally located in Fransschoek. The friandises with the coffee quite enjoyable. Good to know for connaisseurs of Dutch cuisine that Chef Pierre Hendriks has also been working in the past in Venlo, the Netherlands at Valuas.

We had an excellent meal at Le Bon Vivant. Service was professional and attentive - probably the best I have experienced in South Africa in quite a few years. The food was superb. Presentation was modern and very precise and the flavours were great. I had the Crayfish and Springbok Osso Bucco main which was great and suprising as it... More

We settled 2 dayx in this beautifull city and the owner of "Centre Ville" booked a table for us in this restaurant. I still cannot beleive the quality of the food. I went to Michelin Stared restaurant in France and i pomise that this one is not so far from these kind of kitchen. Go there and enjoy !

The food was nice however the wait was very longue between each course. Food was good and ossobuco was an interesting discovery combined with crayfish. There was a funny picture of Naked Chefs of Franschhoek in the restroom and an original clock inside made with cutlery; they also had a ceiling lamp made of whisks.

My husband chose the 5 course tasting menu and was not disappointed by the food and the explanation of what each course entailed. I opted for 3 courses and was spoilt for choice. Thankfully there was a taster plate of the deserts so was able to sample everything! The presentation of the food was excellent and the flavours were just... More

We booked here on a recommendation from our hotel and we are truly not sorry. We ended our anniversary weekend celebrations and it was like ending on a high! The cherry on the cake so to speak. The service and the food and the atmosphere and and and. Where do I start and where do I stop! The whole evening... More

I know there are lots of nice places to dine in Franschhoek, but we loved this restaurant so much we went to dinner there twice, and had almost the same dishes and wine on both occasions. Boring that may sound but they were superb, and that is an understatement. The first evening we ate inside , the second outside. The... More
