A promicing start Rendezvous at Glenwood

A completely new team have just taken over the restaurant at Glenwood and are offering lunches. This venue cannot be beaten for position. They have a selection of "Entrees" which are perfect if you just want (as so many do) a light lunch, they encouraged us to have a second entree as main corse, if... read more

Visited Glenwood for a tasting on our trip to Franschhoek and stayed on for lunch. We sat at a lovely shady outside table with views of the mountains and vineyard and decided that rather than order mains we would share a selection of their small plates / starters which are intended to match their various wines. Between us we had... More

An excellent location, great atmosphere and good wine tasting but disappointing food. Steak was overdone and did not live up to expectations. The restaurant was separate from the wine tasting. Still worth a try though.

This winery is set back off the road in rolling hills. They offer horseback riding if you are in the mood for that too. The wine tasting was very casual and very enjoyable. Our server knew the ins and outs about each wine that she was serving. They have an excellent Pinot menu. The grapes are grown there on site.... More

This is the second time I go to Glenwood, and it was definitely worth it! The setting is very unique and one of the best in the wine region. You feel you are in your own private valley with very friendly staff and exceptional wine

What a find this little oasis was. We stayed in Franschoek in February and went out once a day for a lovely meal. It seemed most people were content to remain on the main rd of Franschoek and not venture onto a short dirt road in the valley behind Franschoek. Well we did in search of peace, quiet and a... More

We enjoyed eating from a very interesting dinner menu. The service was excellent. We liked watching the staff working in the kitchen, and were amazed how calm they seemed, while cooking for so many people!

We visited with friends for Sunday lunch on a lovely autumn day. Firstly, the wines were excellent, including the Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and the Merlot/Shiraz blend. The menu was broad enough to cater for most of our tastes. We shared olives/tapenade/bread, bitterballen and duck spring rolls. All very nice. For main I went for pork belly Asian style which was... On a wind still autumn afternoon few things are as good as a leisurely lunch at Le Bon Vivant at Glenwood. You sit under large trees looking at mountains and vineyards and a little dam with water lilies in it. The food is good. I had melon, tomato and basil soup and a lovely tagliatelle pasta with Gruyere and mushrooms.... More

My husband and I had lunch at this restaurant on 24 March. I ordered what was described as pasta with an assorted mushroom sauce and my husband had a prawn broth. I had to search for the mushrooms and wondered if they had run out by the time we ordered, (13.30). The prawn broth contained 4 small prawns We ordered... More
