We went on a mystery tour to find the Glenwood restaurant and what a surprise! The weather was very misty and foggy that afternoon and we drove slowly through the mountainous terrain until we found a road sign marking our destination. Fortunately the weather had deterred others to come so we got their place as we had not pre booked... More

The food here is mainly for a brunch but it is very good indeed, but not a lot to choose from. There were breathtaking views and there is a quiet ambience about it. Very attentive staff and very helpful. The downside is you have to go down a dirt track to get to it.

As ever, a very good venue with lovely views. Smallish lunch menu, particularly enjoyed the stir fry beef. The wine tasting was excellent, which we did in tandem with our lunch.

Awesome views in a secluded spot at the end of a private track, just off the main road into Franschoek. The light lunch was delicious - a calamari Niçoise salad and fish chowder. It's a lovely spot for lunch. Food is lovingly prepared and the wine, of course, was fabulous too.

I knew the Le Bonvivant Restaurant in town and expected the quality at the Glenwood Estate to be en par. Not quite. Small choice of dishes and not anywhere as innovative and refined. But good value, attentive service and the setting is totally beautiful.

We'd heard alot about this restaurant and was recommended to have lunch at the Glenwood estate. The views were spectacular and we did the wine tasting first. However it was a bit of a little inconvenience in that we weren't able to place our orders at the restaurant and had to shift over to the restaurant section a few meters... More

Most people come here for the wine tasting and miss the opportunity for a peaceful and plentiful lunch with a view under the trees. Everything is prepared to the same standards as the Bon Vivant in town but the setting here is so much nicer. And of course the wine is superb.

Shared platter of snacks after wine tasting. Was charged R100! couldn't believe it for two mush balls, one spring roll, a few olives, couple of corn chips and a few slivers of biltong. Couldn't afford any more so went away hungry.

Two minds... Do you share your secret gem or not...???? A place undiscovered by the crowds.., a haven between mountains, vineyards and sky.... And the food is phenomenal and the wine great...in awe.... If in search of a tranquil destination between earth and heaven... Go here
