Having been a faithfull visitor to the main restaurant in town we were very anxious to experience Pierre's latest venture, suffice to say that we were not disappointed. The setting is absolutely perfect, the food up to Pierre's high standard (he keeps a close eye) and Glenwood's wine exellent, especially their Chardonnay. Sitting under the big oak trees on a... A moderate drive through the valley to the south of Franshhoek end out onto a very large and successful winery. With both outdoor and indoor dining tables it is a rewarding experience to sit in tranquility and experience a selectively short menu of carefully prepared dishes to a high standard. Of course the wine list is impressive and the wines... More

After the Japanese disaster that was Okama, Bon Vivant do a much better job. The setting is marvellous and the winery is our favourite anyway. On two occasions we had the tasting with the food, which is a nice way to do it. The spicy dishes are better than the bland risottos, but the wines remain the stars of the... More

The Tripadvisor listing is very confusing, Le Bon Vivant has nothing to do with the previous Okamai, these reviews should be ignored. We have been 3x for lunch now to Le Bon Vivant at Glenwood. The menu is very nice, there are tiny portions, small portions, and normal main course portions. The prawn lasagne is very tasty, the crab wontons... More

Although Glenwood is a lovely little winery with exquisite wines, the new Bon Vivant branch here was a big disappointment. We've never been a big fan of their main restaurant in Franschhoek (for the same reason as in the title of this review) but the @Glenwood was kind of presented as being slightly more relaxed, so we had hopes for... Made reservation as we could not get in to Le Quartier Francais. Glad we did. Very nice dining room. Service was well paced, attentive but relaxed which fits the mood of the restaurant. The starters and appetizers were excellent - particularly the duck and the springbok. Presentation very good. Nice selection of wine with a heavy emphasis on Franshhoek which... More

And yes it may not be the fastest service when they are busy ,but who needs to rush whilst on holiday ! Enjoy the view the great food and delightful wines .the staff are a credit to Le... More

We visited Glenwood on the recommendation of sommelier friends from back home as part of a tour of numerous wine estates in the area. We were sadly disappointed by the experience. We had booked and expected to receive a wine tasting paired with a menu. The staff never 'got around' to bringing us a single drop of wine so regrettably... More

At the breath taking setting of the Glenwood Wine estate this is a welcome addition to the Franschhoek food scene. There is no more perfect a spot for a relaxing lunch. An uncomplicated menu with a mix of light and more substantial dishes. We started with a complimentary tasting which helped with our choice of wine. Wines are available at... More

We have eaten here several times now. Very relaxing and peaceful with of course beatiful views. There are many choices between a very light lunch or more substantial offerings. We will be returning. I am not sure why - now that is no longer a sushi restaurant, the earlier reviews are here? Ignore them.
