Upon arriving at the restaurant we were left to stand in the doorway, whilst staff (all looking at the door) were saying "door" to each other but no one would actually greet and seat us! After finally getting settled and ordering our food, my sister ordered a lasagna but told the waitress not to worry about holding up everyone's food... More

In Franschoek you may find there a few restaurants (with private security services on the main street) but please note that they close down at 21 exactly, so go early to have dinner or they will refuse to service you for 5 minutes late...it's worse than in switzerland! We found out the Pizzeria "Col Cacchio", which was empty but still... More

When in Franschhoek, the dining gourmet in South Africa, it is difficult to find great value family dining. The previous night, the Tripadvisor research did not prove to be successful, the first choice did not look right so we did not eat there and then we ate at a place nearby which looked like good pub grub but was exceptionally... Col'Cacchio's pizzas are always good that is why this tends to be one of the busiest places in Franschhoek especially in the summer months where people sit outside under the trees. This place is perfect for those who want a relaxed dining experience and don't want to do the full "fine dining" at other restaurants in the area. Whenever I... More

Choosing which pizza to have was like chasing a box of frogs. Great variety plus specify your own. Even offer a split pizza meaning one half one type and you guessed it the ??? Considering the choice and how busy they were the meal arrived reasonably quickly. Great staff, gets busy after 7 p.m., car parking on street near by... More

What a pleasure.... stopped for an impromptu lunch.. (well to be honest, booked an hour beforehand as we thought good practice being a lovely Sunday afternoon).. and what a surprise. The busy main road seemed miles away and the bustle of the restaurant was, well, relaxing! What a cheerful and relaxed vibe. Good service and excellent food. My bad for... More

Really just another chain in the Pizza group. Too many tables in a small crowded space and there was noting about the pizza that would make me return. It was like a sausage machine experience. I could not wait to go the ice cream shop next door.

Enjoyed great Pizza and Pasta at Col'Cacchio on Friday night of the Bastille festival. Very busy but you did not notice the pressure when it came to service and food.. All round a pleasant evening, with good food and wine. No complaints at all but also nothing spectacular..I guess for a Col'Cacchio's it was everything that we expected and maybe... More
