There is an entry fee (R10 per person) to access the gardens. They are very nice and well maintained. You can easily spend a few hours walking through them. There are 2 restaurants that serves dishes made with the local veggies and fruit. The greenhouse only serves cheese and/or cold meat platters. Babel is really worth a try. It offers... More

I ate at the Green House with 5 other friends and we looked at sharing a bottle of wine. I felt like the Babylonstoren Chardonnay but when we looked at the price, it was R290/bottle or R88/glass. There was no way I would spend that at lunch especially. I am all for great wine but something told me that was... More

Wow, what an experience! Great value for money at the greenhouse. We were amazed every step of the way, from the shop at the entrance passing by the gardens and finally getting to the greenhouse we could not stop taking pictures and making comments about the genius concept this place has! The food at the greenhouse is simple yet surprising... More

The food at the glasshouse was superb for breakfast, with large portions, we had scrambled egg and bacon and scrambled egg and trout washed down with coffee and juice at R165. The gardens are superb which will keep you occupied for an hour, will visit again, thank you!

No matter the season this is a must if you are visiting the area...or if you are lucky enough to live nearby. We have never been organised enough to book well in advance for the main restaurant, but the Tea Room is fantastic...its really like a very glamorous picnic...everything is a shock to the senses in the best way ever.... Went here on a Sunday and visited the Green House for lunch. We had no booking (not sure if they accept reservations). It was a lovely but hot summers day and the seating under the trees in fresh air was great. We had the Chenin Blanc and then ordered salads with biltong and Dalewood cheese. Not totally overwhelmed by the... More

We were trying to see the best of Cape Town area in just over a week--our local guide (a winemaker) took us here. I was slightly apprehensive since we had to pay an entrance fee, but as soon as we stepped into the gardens, I understood the experience. They make beautiful breads and chutneys, as well have has some really... More

Babylonstoren has two restaurants on the farm, namely Babel restaurant which offers the more "fine-dining" menu, while the outdoor glass 'Greenhouse' has a light lunch menu. We were told that you can't book a table at the Greenhouse, so arrived early on Sunday to enjoy a family birthday lunch in the sunshine (large group of 12). There was a short... More

You must pay a visit to this incredible farm if you are in the Franschoek area. A real love project, the gardens are beautiful and fascinating. Had a fresh veg juice and (delicious) carrot cake at the Greenhouse restaurant after ambling around the grounds. A gem!
