Such a beautiful place!

We just had some fresh juices in the back of the heen garden, but babylonstoren is such a beautiful, romantic place with the freshest food and drinks. Loved it!

i have visited the glasshouse on numerous occasion without any luck of securing a place to have breakfast or lunch. it is always fully booked with long waiting times. imagine my luck when i found it to be fairly available for a breakfast option without the need to book in advance. being surrounded by the beauty of babylonstoren, along with... This is a rather unique combo of gardens and shops, about 1h drive from Cape Town, on the Paarl/Franschhoek road. Entry is a modest 10 Rand pP. For that you get free easy parking, and a walk around the grounds which comprises fruit and vegetable gardens, plants of all variety, a (too busy) restaurant, a farm shop, wine shop. Not... More

Babylonstoren is a MUST for any visitor/tourist in the Western Cape. Not only are the gardens a revelation, the Babylon restaurant is truly world class, with a selection of dishes that whet your appetite. The fresh home grown produce is incredibly tasty and prepared in very creative ways.

The stroll through the gardens from the exquisite farm shop and wine tasting building to the beautiful glasshouse restaurant, is something special. The layout of the orchards and the vegetable gardens is one of its kind in the world!! The backdrop of the Simonsberg mountains with the vineyards in their different seasons is worth the while to take the stroll.... More

Atmosphere--like being on a farm designed by Restoration Hardware. It was idyllic. Service--Impeccable. They got everything right. Food--OUTSTANDING. Thoughtfully curated--I could taste EVERY herb, veggie, spice etc. Value--this was the most eye opening of all. IT WAS INEXPENSIVE. I highly recommend.

The venue is great and the walk through the orchards was inspiring and lovely. We loved the way the orchards were arranged and taken care of. Also the shops with "home made" preserves, freshly baked bread and wonderful deli. There is also wine tasting.

The walk to the glass house from the parkade is reasonably long but also a treat as one can walk between the various trees and flowers they have planted. The glass house is rather unique with some very different items on their menu such a vegetable juices, and 'create your own sandwich'. A pleasant experience.

Babylonstoren is worth a visit if only to stroll in their gardens - the vegetable patch was the envy of our entire family! We had coffee and left with delicious treats from the Farm Shop. Would go back to visit the restaurant too!

We had heard a lot about the Glasshouse restaurant and finally made the trip. It was a shock to be nailed for R10 per person at the entrance. This was not mentioned when I had phoned to enquire. The Glasshouse does not take bookings, and we waited about 45 minutes. It really is popular. This was a plus for people... More
