Still dreaming about the plum tart - We would have gone back every morning if we had been staying closer. Just love the way everything is served in a wooden crate. Fabulous

We were recommended to visit the gardens--which are very good and just right for a morning walk before the wine tasting. We had lunch in the Glass house--limited choice on bread, cheese and hams with salad--it was very good and the service was friendly. We went into the wine tasting and the young man started telling us about the wines... More

The place was not at all what we had expected. It may be OK if you have children or really like gardens but not for us. We did not want to walk the very long way to the Garden Restaurant and the first restaurant only did full meals, not what we wanted as there are so many excellent restaurants in... More

Lunch in the Green House on a cloudy autumn day - the food and setting were exquisite, the service was shockingly apathetic and slow. The ingredients were fresh, simple and tastefully presented. I will go back for the food, in the hope that the service has improved.

Set in the beautiful Franschhoek amongst one of the most exquisite gardens I've ever had the privilege to set eyes upon. Babel at Babylonstoren is a smallish restaurant that serves everything fresh from their gardens. Food is beautifully presented and evokes the optic senses, but for me, that's where it ended. We were a table of 10. We had the... More

We went for lunch in the gardenrestaurant Glaskas at Babylonstoren (Stellenbosch). They do'n't do any reservations. They ask a small fee to enter the gardens. All entrance fees are donated to the Babylonstoren Trust. After a nice walk through the huge fruit and vegetable gardens you arrive at the Glaskas (the greenhouse). You can sit in the shade of the... The attention to the detail in the serving of the food is exceptional. Very unique and creative. I have salad every where I go, nothing that I have had in 10 years in RSA or abroad could keep up with I was served here. Previously I had sandwiches and cake and scones - everything is fresh with a creative twist.... More

Went for lunch with my mother who just flew in from PE. Did not realise it would be such a long walk; difficult for her as an elderly lady, but otherwise a beautiful walk. As one enters the restaurant area of the Greenhouse, there is a sign requesting you to wait to be seated - but no one there to... More

We had been recommended to visit the gardens and the restaurant and we were not disappointed. We had been told we'd be lucky to get into the main restaurant "Babel" but we were lucky enough to get a seat outside. It was a bit breezy but the food was good with fresh vegetables from the gardens. We loved the gardens... More

The very long walk between the car park and Green House restaurant is totally unfriendly and difficult for people with mobility problems and despite asking if we could park closer to the restaurant, this was denied us. i got the distinct impression that they were not interested in my walking problems. We were offered the use of a wheelchair which... More
