Great food and service from husband & wife team. Stylish home-like dining room with a view of the chefs hard at work. The dishes, and particularly the amuses bouches, are inventive, but don't be put off by this - the flavours are fantastic. Great value too. (Do book a table as they get very busy). More

Really enjoyed the experience, the test tubes etc... were very novel but overall the food was great and the service excellent. We booked it as a last resort, but would certainly be on the top of my list next visit. More

For that extra special gastronomical experience look no further. We were lucky to have the Chef's Table right next to the kitchen. It was a delight to watch the calm as Ryan and his team prepared the meals. The food that we were served was perfect in combination of flavours and textures as well as portion size. Service was immaculate... More

Very small and cosy restaurant. We almost sat in the kitchen:-) Every plate was served well, tasted good and made me curious every time. Wide choice of wines. More

One year down the line and chef Ryan Smith is still happy with his emphasis on seasonal and ethical food with the menu changing every 2nd week. More

Ryan is trying experimental and his opening offers are really very good. It's great to have a chef and a restaurant that is making an effort to be different. Well worth a visit, and particularly appealing that Ryan gets out of the kitchen and meets his customers. Why not five star and excellent? The service got off to a slow... More

I found Ryan's to be rather full of itself with the test tubes and general presentation. Having said the that the service was excellent, maybe it just wasn't for me and my companions. More

We spent 3 weeks in southern Africa in January and Ryan's kitchen was a dining highlight. Wonderful food, served beautifully by a friendly and attentive staff, even providing guests with wraps in case they were needed for the cool evening out of doors. We sat outside so we missed the excitement of seeing into the open kitchen but enjoyed the... More

Ryan's was by far the best place we ate during our long stay in Franschhoek. The food was outstanding ( although we're not that fussed about the gastro chemistry amuse bouche ), the service excellent but by far the best part, at least for us, was sitting near the open kitchen watching Ryan and 5 other chefs / staff in...
