The setting for Ryan's is beautiful, on a sunny Sunday afternoon, sitting outside it was bliss. So was the food. Excellent and faultless, all four starters and mains, the cob was particularly special although the short rib was memorable. The thoughtful wine list matched the classically prepared dishes. Oh the souffle! wow, as i remembered from a previous visit. It... More

We had already tried a few restaurants in Franschhoek to be told that they were all fully booked. One of the restaurant managers recommended trying Ryan's Kitchen so we wandered over to try our luck. We were offered the last table which happened to be the one directly in front of the kitchen. We were eating later than most people... More

Had a wonderful 4 course meal. From the starter to dessert food was interesting and tasty. Ryan played around with textures as well as tastes in his dishes. Have already booked again in a fortnight to introduce some friends to this mouth watering spectacle.

We visited this tiny restaurant for the second time recently and ( as per the last time we were there) were blown away by the unusual tastes and textures of the brilliant chef, Ryan. Some of the most delicious dishes were crab tapioca and lamb roti. We did the wine pairing with the food and that was also great. In... More

We made a reservation a day before. It's a small restaurant and they have their set menu for you. I am vegetarian and had a very good meal. No surprise that very good wine and exteremly friendly service. Food taste was very good and keep space in your stomach for desert as well. Reservation is essantial like other restaurants in... More

Ryan has a very unique approach to food and dares to combine very different ingredients together. For example, the tapioca and crab pudding was a combination for one of the entrees. A few too many flavours competing on the plate for my taste although my husband really liked his meal and thought the lamb rooti was very good. The crème... More

We had a nice lunch at Ryan's. It came highly recommended along with top reviews from Trip Advisor. The meal was nice, though below the high expectations. Perhaps we caught them on an off day. The ambience was great. We ate in the front room with views into the surprisingly homey kitchen. Homey in an upscale, thoughtfully built kind of... More

We have visited meny good restaurants - also Michelin-rated. We also like modern cuisine-style, which you need to appreciate the meal. It was superb, tasty, innovative, exiting and a fantastic evening. And almost impossible to remember every course... 8 delicios courses - and a little extra - with 8 different wines. Not too much - or too little. Maybe the... More

If you are a foodie... If you love incredible, innovative, memorable, photography inspiring food that tastes like nothing you've ever tasted before. THIS is the place! Tucked away in a quaint garden on the main road of Franschhoek, you would never suspect such advanced food. The restaurant is warm and very cosy.. you feel like you're right at home. The... More

The food is perfectly seasoned and very interestingly prepared, restaurant is a small space off the reception area of a Guest House and wish the windows had been opened as it was quite stuffy with the open kitchen from the frying. All in all very good quality prepared foods with very prompt and courteous service.
