This would never be the restaurant I would choose normally, but it was late Sunday evening and options were limited. We decided to go to Kalfis for my friends Birthday. I was surprised by excellent service from our waitress, unfortunately I did not get her name. She was extremely attentive and friendly, even though we arrived late and also stayed... More

I asked our guest house to recommend somewhere relaxed with traditional African food - there is only so much 'fusion' and fine dining you can take in one holiday! I had a scrumptious bobotie, which was sadly so big I did not have room to try pudding!! The service was friendly and attentive. Glad I didn't look at the reviews... More

Food medicore. Service poor and very slow. A letdown. We were moved to table near the fireplave becasue the weather was cool. However, someone lit a match and tried to litght a large log without kindling or paper. A very poor attempt. No one tried to light the fire or ask us if we were warm enough.

We have booked for a romantic getaway in Fransshoek and decided to give this restaurant a try for lunch. Wish we never did My husband spent most of the evening in bathroom with food poisoning I did complain but never got an apology which I thought was bad customer service. I do not recommend this restaurant at all

Kalfi's is where you go for comfort. we went on Sunday eve and had really friendly service , some nice wine and home cooked, babootie spring rolls, potato samosas, burger and steak and kidney pie. It was a lovely warm evening in early November and we ate outside. All excellent and a welcome break from several days of places charging... More

Received a warm welcome on a cold, rainy day as we were seated in a lively, colourful restaurant with lots of memories of the "old days" in the Cape. Spotless as are most South African venues. Then the food ..... well, what can one say. S African beef is scrumptious and the chef certainly knows how to grill steak to... More

We have visited Kalfis a while ago and were very impresed with their food. On our way back from a visit in the Overberg, we have decided to have lunch and once again we would like to compliment them on the best homebaked roast chicken pie and filled pancakes. The chocolate brownies is the best ever! and the carrot cake!... More

Not exactly 'haute cuisine', but the Pub atmosphere was good and the babotie delicious! Good value for money and a short walk in the pouring rain from our B & B

Thanks Hans and Marida, for a lovely breakfast . It was awesome to be treated with homemade bread, liver with smoor, bacon, mushrooms etc. We will be back. Enjoyed the homemade bread. Took me one a trip down memory lane, when we had breakfast on the farm. Love your Restaurant and you've made my day thanks. Marlene
