Good honest food

Expect tasty homely meals, not gourmet. Friendly service but a very limited slightly over priced wine list. Also one of the value wine options not available when we visited.

Very average, lacking any real flavours and simple cooking not well executed. Very slow service. Was hoping for a quick supper - didn't get one!

Once again we 'popped in' at Kalfi's today for what was suppose to be a quick lunch... We ended up leaving quite late stuffed full of amazingly delicious food like always.. Thanks to Marida, Hans and their team for their hospitality, great food, and brilliant service! I would highly recommend Kalfi's to anyone.

We had once again the most delicious dinner at Kalfis. The spare ribs were really tenderly soft and tasty and the chocolate brownies absolutely devine and beautifully presented. The bobotie is to die for. This beautiful Restaurant happens to be our favourite and we will never pass it by. We were seated outside on the stoep, overlooking the mountains and... More

This is realworld Franschhoek, where the locals hang out when they are tired of too much french cuisine. Great food and wonderfully friendly staff makes for a traditional, wholesome experience. I can easily recommend Kalfi's to Kings and Queens and everyone else.

We were in South Africa for 5 weeks to early March and had great food everywhere except Kalfi's. We had fish and chips as a take-away, but the chef/owner obviously have no awareness of quality or value. The quality was very poor - thin fish, dry batter, soggy chips, poor taste. This was early in our holiday and I didn't... More

We were referred by another restaurant in Franschhoek so that tells you Kalfis is great. We all loved the food and service. The staff is so friendly you will feel like a king. Please give them a try.

I visited Franschoek with family and we decided to have lunch here . I decided to have the chicken pie , BIG MISTAKE . the rest of my family had burgers and chips , and my mother ordered a quiche . I could see when the meal arrived that it was not an individual pastry pie , but a slice... More
