Royalty treatment!

Treated to an incredible lunch as well as a look around the beautiful lush, serene property, we felt like royalty! A huge thank you to Jean and her team for treating a city boy and his beautiful lady to a most memorable day. This is a place worth visiting!

Having failed three weeks earlier to get a booking in The Tasting Room we settled for lunch at The Foliage (see separate review). We then decided to have tapas in The Living Room in the evening having told them that we were disappointed not to have got a reservation in The Tasting Room having tried to do so for three... More

ate here during our recent stay in Franschhoek. Enjoyed it thoroughly. We eat at similar restaurants when're we travel and we were impressed by the menu. The little starters were great and the paired wines were good. Found it interesting that for half the courses we received different meals, which was good to taste and experience more, but I thought... More

The food was good and the wine pairing well done but this is the most expensive meal we have had in South Africa. Definitely an experience to try once but there are many other restaurants in the area that serve food which is as good but at a fraction of the cost.

My apologies for the delay in getting this review together. My husband and I had dined here for our first time at the Tasting Room in 2010 on the night before our wedding. We returned for the first time in Jan 2015 while staying again at La Residence (where we also had been married in 2010). The dining room and... More

My wife loves tasting menus because of the great variety and small portions. The variety and taste bud excitation at the Tasting Room in Franschhoek was phenomenal. Service excellent and ambiance pleasant but good. The whole hotel radiates a wonderful feeling. Not only the Tasting Room staff but all the Hotel staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and competent.

Remarkable, imaginative range of meticulously prepared foods - worth selecting a shorter menu than tempts you.
