We have been to Quartier many times in the past. As we had problems to get a reservation the last two times I booked far in advance this time. We took our son who studies at international Hotel School to give him a taste of what a good meal in a topclass restaurant should be as we had very good... More

This was our second visit to the tasting room and we were pleasantly surprised to be approached by the management who remembered our first visit and who wanted to ensure that we had a different experience in terms of food and wine the second time around. This attention to detail and making customers feel special is found throughout the meal... More

When you place three Australian women at a table, add food and alcohol it becomes a rather raucous affair. The tasting room brings absolute silence, one literally savours every last tasty, tiny morsel of gastronomical brilliance that the plate can possibly offer without bringing it to ones face and licking unashamedly. A word to the wise, trust the staff and... More

Had high expectations for the Tasting Room given its reviews and ranking on the San Pellegrino list. We were not disappointed! The tasting menu with wine pairings was extremely innovative and the service was excellent. The use of unique South African ingredients was quite interesting as well. Trying not to sound pretentious, but after living in New York City, we... More

My meal was an extraordinary pairing of gastronomical delights, each one paired with a wine designed to heighten the mouthwatering experience. Please don't attempt to undertake this journey of 8 or 9 courses paired with wine after you take the wine tram!

This is a great experience. Not huge portions but the various courses definitely fill you up. They were also able to cater for my gluten free diet which I was surprised at and it didn't even faze them. The staff are friendly and add to the whole experience.

My husband and I had the 8 course menu with wine pairing last March. The presentations were very pleasant and the food very good. I enjoyed the fact that at one point, we were served different dishes which gave us the opportunity to taste each other's dish or drink. But something was lacking and after some thought, I believe it... More

Nice welcome. Had aperitifs outside. Excellent. Separate bill for these drinks before invited to our table? Inside very adequate service. 5 course meal. All quick, very, very tasty, wines nice. Dessert diasappointing: sort of large eggshell disappearing under a warm caramel sauce poured over it. Visual feast, unfortunately the egg(?) underneath was a very sour yoghurt, the aftertaste of which... More

We went to the Restaurant last week Friday after phoning, for a booking i was told there was no space however the evening we stopped in front of the place to go across the road we took a chance and was informed there was a table. The Setting: this lacked atmosphere made me think of a boarding school dining room... More

Ok, so some of the dishes were amazing, we had 8 course wine pairing. Others like salads were dismal. Wines not great super local but by no means the best of what is on offer in western cape. Restaurant looks like small note buffet room. Staff service fell apart out of sync. Concept right but could not get it together... More
