This was the first time I had had dinner at Grande Provence, although I had been several times for lunch, and it certainly did not disappoint. This is eating in the grand manner, with beautifully appointed tables in a formal yet welcoming dining room, and an extensive set menu with plenty of choice. Each dish was complex and well thought... My husband and I booked for lunch whilst spending a day on the wine tram. It was not only the best vineyard we visited during our two days in Franschhoek but the best meal we had throughout our entire 2 week South Africa holiday. The three course lunch was amazing and enhanced by the recommended wine pairings. My only suggestion... More

Over the last ten years we visited this restaurant very often for a Sunday lunch. We were always happy and went back time and again. However lately the food changed (obviously a new chef) for the worse and the value for money is terrible and they are now so expensive that all other places in Franschoek are very cheap in... More

Franschhoek really is a beautiful place and the restaurant at Grand Provence is phenomenal. We had a group of 10 and did the wine tasting first followed by lunch, which was exceptional. The attention to detail, the waiters and the setting make is a must to do in Franschhoek.

We went there with friends who raved about this place and therefore knew it quite well . I will not go into too many details here, but simply want to say the whole evening at Grand Provence is an unforgettable one and for the right reasons. The food, wine, service, atmosphere, décor, gardens made it one of the best dining... More

We ate at Grande Provence last year and were a little disappointed; however the experience we had last week was a whole different story. The service was good, as was the atmosphere and wines etc. but the food was the best we have had while over in South Africa - and we have eaten in some highly rated establishments. They... More

Although this review is not based on the restaurant and its set menu, we did spend the day on the estate for a special occasion and we were served buffet style food. Firstly, I have visited Grande Provence on many occasions and cannot fault the staff for there friendliness and willing to help. i have had some annoyances with shoddy... More

Everything about having lunch at Grande Provence was impeccable. We had researched the menu online before booking and we were impressed that they do not book to their seating capacity so they can ensure your food is just right. Indeed it was. The menu is varied and enticing and every option eaten amongst the 4 of us was first class.... More

Chef Darren Badenhorst goes out of his way to ensure that your every need is catered for, the food is outstanding, and with every mouthful there is an extra surprise, a sensation on the taste buds. The wine suggestions by the waiters pairs wonderfully with the various meals, the service is good, and one feels right at home in the... More
