We were met at the door with a nice glass of wine and were able to stroll the beautiful gardens, look through the art gallery and take our time. We ate a delicious lunch on the patio and enjoyed every bite! Firt class!

This restaurant is part of the top restaurants in town. The food is brilliant. The wine is incredible. Extraordinary art collection. Wonderful setting and good all round service. A must for every visitor to Franshhoek.

This is fine dining as it should be! Perfect service and a stunning menu.3 course menu for just over 300 Rand.... Even the wine list is very well priced and the wines from the estate are very good. Try the Pinot Noir for under R300! Thank you very much and we will be back.

We recently had lunch at Grande Provence and enjoyed every morsel. The food and wine were top notch in an unbeatable setting ... the best meal we had in Franschhoek over three days .. and because of all that we can forgive the slightly poor service! Do make the trip: you will not be disappointed!

What an amazing place! We have dined a lot in Franschhoek - even at the top-notch restaurants - but this is by far the best place to go. Beautiful surroundings, a perfect menu, where you pick three courses for a very reasonable price, and some very nice wines. Service was a bit slow and not very friendly, but the food... More

We met our SA friends here for lunch. The drive into the estate definitely gets you in the mood for a nice afternoon. We all had the 3 course meal and multiple bottles of wine. The service was excellent and well paced. The trout entree was excellent, the beef was very good. The portion size was just right; we had... More

The restaurant at Grande Provence is the epitome of elegance and grace. The setting alone has you wanting more and more. Having been just before the cold april evenings, my boyfriend and I were seated in the quaint court yard with a subtle fire blazing in the back. The food is another level of amazing. The salmon gravadlax was one... More

Despite the limited menu Grand Provence does it all so well. The service, the palette cleansers, the bread, it's all delicious. It is a lovely setting and worth a visit for a special occasion, how anyone could be disappointed!

We had an excellent dinner at Grande Provence but one of the great mysteries is why so few people were dining there when other restaurants in Franschhoek were full. The restaurant offers a four course dinner for R320 (about £24/$36) plus reasonably priced wines. Service was friendly and attentive. Grande Provence is around five minutes drive from central Franschhoek which... More

Dear ashnick Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor. We really appreciate your comments, but most of all, your constructive criticism. Sometimes, it is indeed difficult to predict how busy our restaurant will be! Occasionally we experience quite nights, and other nights it is packed - without any apparent reason such as an event,... I did the full tasting at the tasting room for R50. Superb wines, just a pity we couldn't try their Muscat de Alexandrie. Tiny production each year, so it's justified. I was super impressed with the setting and the friendliness of the staff. Geradine was very knowledgeable and happy to answer all of my questions. Wine of the day was... More

Dear MrDragon182 Wow, what a delightful review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the wine tasting. My sincere apologies that you could not taste the Muscat d'Alexandrie. It's a deliciously medium bodied dessert wine. The intense fruitiness and sweetness of the Muscat grapes are well balanced by a fresh acidity. The mouth feel is soft and smooth,... More
