I decided to treat my husband to another dinner at this very special restaurant for his birthday. Once again they didn't disappoint! Food delicious, attention to detail with presentation outstanding and service just perfect! Only problem I have was that it was an exceptionally cold evening and there was no heating apart from a fire going in a small pizza... More

My wife took me for lunch at Grande Provence for Father's Day. What a treat! The chefs prepared the most delectable and tasty three course meal, I have ever tasted. Try the Galaxy of flavors desert, wow! This is a must for any person traveling to Franshoek.

I was lucky enough that the PN pairing (being a favourite cultivar of mine) coincided with my birthday week. Excellent communication from GP via e-mail re booking and payment and first class service from René beforehand and on the night. Seated at the fireplace as requested. An honour to have the wine makers from respectively Iona, Hamilton Russell, Creation and... More

We went there in March on a Saturday afternoon just as they were about to close, the outside area was closed but the staff inside duly gave us a tasting of note. All the wines were palatable but the one that stood out was the Grand Provence " Gold medal winning" Cab/Sav, which were bought. Stunning setting with some unusual... More

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch Grande Provence. Because of winter time it is low season in Franschhoek and we were the only guests at the time in the restaurant. The advantage being that we got all the attention and were treated very well. We had a 3 course lunch: all the dishes were very special and very tasteful. Accompanied by... More

We had dinner at Grande Provence after having had a lot of recommendations to go there. What a disappointment both culinary and ambiance. The starters were good nothing fancy and quite appetizing but oh dear the main course was a disaster. We ordered the Rabbit, its presentation was poor and that should have been enough warning. It was dry and... More

It was brother's 60th Birthday celebration. The chef was not there. The menu was disappointing in itself. Strange combinations of food mixed together. One person in our party was vegetarian and had no choice but to order the vegetable medley which was not substantial at all. For a price of R650 a head (with wine) we felt it overpriced. The... More

Dear Xberning Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments with us and for pointing out the waiter's efficiency and enthusiasm. However, I was disappointed to learn that your visit did not live up to your overall expectation. Be assured that there is always a chef and a shift Manager on duty without fail. Please accept... We were here for lunch and I have to say the food was fantastic very stylish in its presentation sometimes maybe a little too pretty to eat. But tasty non the less. The only problem I found was that their was not enough staff for the amount of people eating here. You had to wait a long time to catch... More
