Different people recommended The French Connection to us and it was really averaged to rather disappointing. There is absolutely no effort in welcoming the dinner guests. Although we made a reservation the table was directly next to the noisy open kitchen. The starter: a vegetable salad was pathetic.Even if you had a looking glass you would be unable to find... More

Dear Paljas We were very disappointed to get your feedback after dining with us on the weekend. I apologise the food was not up to standard. The veal is one of our most popular dishes, and unlike a lot of other restaurants,it is pan fried in butter, not deep fried. It is unfortunate that you did not complain on the... More

Wonderful fresh food beautifully presented. Our steaks were top quality and our starters sublime. An excellent menu and good wine list. Children are catered for with a good children's menu. Staff are well trained and efficient. Value for money is excellent

Highly recommend if you're staying the night in franschoek. Excellent steak, great pinotage, awesome cheese platter to finish off. Fantastic all round without the feeling of paying a premium. Recommend booking as full and vibrant, but not too noisy.

We arrived in on a cool night in July. We wanted good hearty food and that's exactly what we got. The food was great, the wine tasty and the open roaring gave the restaurant a lovely warm atmosphere.

We had a lovely meal on Friday evening - being lucky to get a table since we didn't book a reservation. The restaurant was packed and visitors even sat on the stoep in the cold winter - clear indication that this restaurant is famous for their food. Enjoyed a lovely bottle of Haute Cabriere Pionot Noir with rib-eye steak with... More

We ate here twice because we enjoyed it so much. A lovely bistro in town, with a wide menu to suit every taste and great wine at affordable prices. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh, from mussels to duck, goats cheese tart, beef stroganoff and fine pinot noir served by the glass, in a carafe or bottle. Unbelievable value... More

Friends of mine took me to this restaurant because it is their favorite, so I had high expectations. We made a reservation and were placed on the terrace like we requested because of the nice weather. I had the goatcheese quiche with salad and french fries on the side and the pear tarte tatin as dessert. It was devine and... More

Went on a Sunday evening with a friend. We both had the beef fillet, which came exactly as we ordered. Lovely veggies to go with. A definete winner. Atmosphere was nice for a Sunday. We were the last guests leaving shortly past 22h. Would come back any time.

We ordered a starter, main and dessert. All three courses were superb. The waiters were friendly and the service was good. We sat near the crackling fire which is perfect for us as we were celebrating our 10th anniversary. The tempura prawns were a highlight and we loved the pecan pie.
