We went on a Sunday night because many other places were shut, but we were not disappointed. The place had a busy, friendly ambiance and gave us an authentic French style experience with bigger portions than we get in Europe! Both of us ordered steaks and they were not only perfectly cooked, and delicious, but generously sized. The food was... More

We have never been disappointed in this lovely restaurant. We sat outside on the patio, it was a lovely evening and the view from the restaurant towards the mountains is great. The service here is always good and the food even better. The menu caters for all palates and the wine list is very good. Desserts are to die for!!!

We booked a table for a wedding anniversary meal whilst in Franschoek and were very pleased with both the food and the staff. We definitely would recommend this restaurant but it can get very busy, so book in advance.

In many respects this place ticks the box for a much less pretentious experience than some in Franschoek. We enjoyed our meal although my wife had a problem wit Mussels that weren't hot enough. However they replaced them and brought fresh fries in good time so that is a plus. I would recommend here for good solid french style cooking... More

Visited this place after a day's wine tasting. Food did not disappoint. Great menu with lovely specials. Service was friendly and very good. We would definitely return on any future visits to Franschoek.

French Connections' food, welcome and service is always excellent - a great favourite of ours and many of our friends (local and visitors) for many years. Always busy, great food backed up by friendly and professional service. Highly recommended.

This place is just a MUST to visit when in South Africa. Do yourself the favor to go to this beautiful town of Franschhoek and visit The French Connection for lunch or dinner. I have been to this small town many time and tried most of the restaurants there; The French Connection is my favorite from first day.

On recommendations from Trip Advisor and friends we went to the French Connection for dinner. What a disappointment! Three of us had pasta with courgette which was tasteless, the schnitzel was tasteless and the barbeque short was tough and the sauce over spiced. We will definitely not return nor recommend this restaurant. Ths nicest thing about the restaurant was the... More

Dear Cruising76 We were very disappointed to get your feedback with regard to your food at our restaurant. We set ourselves a high standard and demand consistency from our staff. You didn’t mention if you were checked on while eating and if you told the manager or waiter that you were unhappy. I would like to get a better understanding... More

Unfortunately the table next to us had the last plate of mussels but they looked fantastic. Recommended by our Guest House it was a great choice. A good buzz, attentive service and delicious food. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area
