Holding out under extreme pressure

I had the privilege of eating here during this past Bastille Day festival and the management and staff need to be congratulated. The town was under extreme pressure but the staff handled the huge influx with calm and professionalism that few did that week end. Their service was very good and the... read more

We managed to find this absolute treat in heart of Franschhoek. The food was absolutely amazing! Personally, I would recommend the fillet mignon but our friends said the lamb was just as good. The portions are very generous! Save space for dessert because it is absolutely amazing!! The prices are very reasonable too. Will definitely go back to this restaurant!

On the recommendation of our hotel we booked a table for dinner chosing to go out rather than the soft option of staying in after a long day doing not a lot. The restaurant was friendly, warm and welcoming, the staff outstanding! The menu extensive, with additional specials so I went for the Springbok salad, this was a MAN. Sized... More

From anywhere in Capetown the trip to Franschhoek is pleasant, many wineries to visit and beautiful countryside. The restaurant is popular so book ahead. Our meals were quite good although my wife's was cool on arrival. The town is rather typical, California style tourist-trappish with a traditional collection of folks rather mechanically trudging between shops or sipping white wine in... More

Delicious french dinner coupled with excellent wines from this great wine region in South Africa. Service was great and it was a great experience!

managed to get a table without a reservation. When our food came out, one of the steaks was inedible but once changed the food was good. Hopefully a one off piece of dodgy meat. Not the best eatery in town but not bad either.

We are almost boring in that we keep returning to this favourite wonderful restaurant on the Franschoek main road. Each time we look at other menus along the strip,we keep being tempted by the offers at The French Connection. The fireplace provided a cosy ambience and the Veal Schnitzel and Duck were superb and cooked exactly as we liked. The wines... More

On a positive note the staff did the right thing as when I returned our mains and offered to pay for the wine and starters before leaving by stating that they did not require any payment. My wife ordered mussels with garlic and wine in a cream sauce. The sauce was just cream with no hint of seafood nor garlic... More

I love this restaurant because of its excellent food. My favourite is the Filet Mignon. mmmmhhh. Right in the center of the village is it convenient to go party afterwards.

The French Connection is fast becoming our very favourite restaurant. We have eaten there quite a few times now and it just seems to get better and better! Four of us had Starters, Mains and Desserts and really enjoyed every morsel. The gravadlax was dreamy and the steaks all round were done to perfection. I had the pecan pie for... More
