Consistently good

Food always consistent. Very good value for money. Attentive staff and a nice atmosphere, although can sometimes be a little noisy inside. If possible reserve a table on front terrace.

We were just lucky - got a small table for dinner without reservation. Excellent service and food as I had in the past visits to the place. very nice atmosphere with a good mixture of older and younger people. It was no-meat dinner for me and I was very positively surprised by the vegetarian offer.

In the centre of Franschhoek we had a very pleasant lunch and glass of wine at one of the outside tables, watching the world go by! Great fish cakes and a lovely Chardonnay - very enjoyable. Service also good.

We decided to eat here after reading some good reviews on Tripadvisor. The food was really delicious and generously portioned, with great views of the main street in Franschoek. Well priced with good service.

After another hot day in Franschoek we were ready for an early evening meal and a cool glass of wine. We were lucky to get a seat outside close to the pavement and the wine was duly served at the right temperature. But unfortunately things went downhill from there. The service was not good and almost surly. Whilst the meals... More

Had a meal here with friends, and it was excellent (my husband had the biggest rump steak we have ever seen! Couldn't eat it all, but said it was excellent). Very good value for money.

It was one of our hottest days in Franschhoek so we asked for a table outside. We watched the sun set behind the hills opposite the restaurant and ate a memorable meal. French Connection offers a varied menu of fish and meat dishes - as always the steaks were excellent and the wine list is both comprehensive and well priced.... More

A lunchtime visit sitting in the courtyard and the food was excellent, especially the fillet. Service was great especially when we complained about a bottle of wine that was full of sediment (that wine comes like that but nobody warns you) but to be fair it was replaced with no quibble. We have eaten there several times and the food... More

This is one of the many restaurants on Franschhoek main road, where we had an excellent meal with very good service. We thought that both the meal and the service were better than its neighbour, the Dutch East.
