Good food, great atmosphere, lovely decor. The menu provides for choice. My husband said the mussels were some of the best he's ever had.

We almost turned around when we walked in but it was late and we decided to stay. Big mistake, the wine list, for being in the heard of wine country, was limited. We had to send our salads back, they drowning in dressing. The main courses picked up a little, but overall it was so disappointing, considering we were in... More

Dear Sue S We were very disappointed to get your feedback about our restaurant. Firstly my apologies for your salads being overdressed, I hope it was rectified smartly. There are many great high end, 'fine dinning' options in Franschhoek, but we are more of a casual bistro, for people wanting something a little different and less formal and complexed than... More

You really cannot go wrong with this chic French bistro. The food and service is consistently good. In summer one can sit out on the pavement terrace and watch the world go by and on chilly winter days the indoor fire is very welcoming.

We were recommended by a local to eat at The French Connection and we were not disappointed. The menu is extensive with something to please everyone. We didn't have a reservation but were accommodated outside, with heaters it was more than comfortable and quite enjoyable to be outside. The food was of good quality, not sensational but better than most.... More

When you are in for some good food, but not too fancy: this is the place! Good variety on the menu with some specials on the side. Attentive waiters/waitresses.

We had dinner at the restaurant with friends. Overall the food was fine, but nothing really out of the ordinary. One of our party's steak was overcooked. The highlight for me was the starter portion of Mussels that we shared. Beautiful tender Mussels in a lovely sauce. The atmosphere was pleasant and service good.

I eat here regularly and it's always a winner. Great food, good service and if you sit outside you can enjoy the atmosphere of the town and do some people-watching, which I enjoy.

Very busy restaurant serving very good local food. We had the lamb chops and Kingclip, both of which were excellent. the service was good and the atmosphere very French. A very pleasant meal at a reasonable price.

It is not always easy for a restaurant to deal with a large grouup - we were 18 but they happily spread us to three tables and we all had a great night. The service and food were both excellent.
