Brookside Diner's Wednesday lunch special is indeed special. There is a separate menu and there are many bargains. I like the Greek salad with cajun chicken. It comes with a choice of soft drink, soup and dessert - all for $8.99. How can you beat that? Service is pleasant and ambience is typical diner - but with an added flavor!!

Riding by this diner and saw lots of cars so decided to give it a try. Portions were large, tasty and presented well. Service Ce was great. Owner walked by 2-3 times asking about food and service if all was ok, it was better than ok. When leaving asked again, great to eat in a family owned business that has... More

We stopped into the Brookside Diner for a quick breakfast this weekend, and we got about what we expected. The food was quite decent; not exceptional, but decent. The menu for breakfast is pretty large, and we all found the dishes we were looking for. The service was also pretty decent; not really a smiley face, but she brought us... More

As far as diners go, this is a typical place. It has a very large menu and the portions are large. Nice desserts also. While dining we noticed a wide variety of customers from couples, young and elderly to young families. If you're passing through Whippany, NJ, it's worthwhile dining here.

PROS: Main courses were excellent! We had prime rib and poached salmon. Both sizable and outstanding! Desserts were excellent! Portion size was pleasantly large! The bread was outstanding! Our waitress was excellent! (Margaret) CONS: Beverage NOT included with full dinner. (Really?!) This made dinner too pricey. (Dropped more than $50 for dinner for two — in a diner?!) Coffee was... We would recommend eating at the Whippany Diner down the road. The food is better, though the service here was excellent. Turkey sausage was too greasy. Omelettes were average.

The awesome thing about diners is if you can't find something you want on the menu then what you want doesn't exist. This place has a huge menu, and the quality of the food was top notch considering what their inventory must look like to maintain such a large menu. The portions are gigantic, and the prices were great considering... More

I went to the Brookside after a business meeting on a cold morning and was looking for a cup of hot coffee and something warm. I have to say the coffee was warm and the soup, bean, was excellent. I should have had more of that because my western omellette was a bit bland to be honest. I needed some... More

This is a typical Diner, food was very good and so was the service. They have a nice Breakfast and very good dinner. It's only drawback is it's size, but that's what makes it a friendly place! I would recommend it without a second thought

The portions are large and the food is good. It's an excellent value. They have specials every night.
