When visited this restaurant we thought that was just another Mediterranean, and they surpassed expectations. Nice decor. Place is huge and BYOB. Service was great. Menu is priced right. They do close between lunch and dinner.

The fish dishes (Salmon and Branzino) were good but some of the sides (e.g Brussel sprouts) were bland. Portions were average-small and we didn't feel we got good value for our money. The service was amazing and our server was very knowledgeable and made sure...that our food met our dietary restrictionsMore
Very nice Mediterranean restaurant. (This review is for the Westwood location -- they have another in Livingston.) Salads and appetizers are very good. Three of our party ordered the branzino filet entree and were very happy with it. My lamb shank was very tender. Other...entrees were a chicken tajine and seafood kebab, both very flavorful. Another nice feature are the "mezzas", small plates that can be ordered to accompany the entrees. I recommend ordering 2 or 3 of these for the table to share. The crispy cauliflower was particularly well received. Service was cordial. BYOB. One caveat: for larger parties they will automatically add a gratuity (20%), so check your tab before adding a tip.More
This restaurant is rather large but did not get very loud during dinner on a Friday evening. We were able to find street parking fairly easily which was an added bonus. The food was good including the octopus appetizer and the salmon entrée. We did...not eat dessert but there were several choices that looked interesting. Note that this place is BYOB so come prepared! Service was very friendly but probably could have been slightly more attentive. Admittedly that’s being kind of picky though. I would recommend this place.More
If you order the 3 "Mezza" dishes you get it for $25. I love the baba ghanoush. Instead of ordering a main course, I order a couple of appetizers. I highly advise the grilled octopus which is superb. Then we had a chocolate souffle which...was devine and yummy.More
Overpriced, dry chicken and poor service. While our waitress was very sweet - she couldn’t be found - not to take our order, not to ask a question, not to open our wine. While eggplant salad and hummus was good - Israeli salad was the...teeny portion and “crudite” was pathetic - literally 3 celery sticks and 3 carrot sticks. Chicken shish kabob was over cooked and so dry. And each entry was over $30 ? Really? For these prices food and service need to be improved.More
Ample outdoor seating and good food with friends made this a very enjoyable dining experience. Some of the food could have used a bit more spice but everything was delicious. The hummus and falafel were excellent. Service was pleasant too.
Ordered the $17 salad today - yes salad $17 all greens.....with 2 hummus bowls as a take out. Waaaay too expensive for side salad received. Laughed thinking it was a joke. Maybe a $8 side salad.....nothing special in it. Brussel sprouts exterior leaves, some peas,...a bit of brocollini, few greens and a shaving of cheese. Hummus ok but no longer the joy it once was. Over priced...getting a bit to 'big for itself' since it's start. Will not return nor order take out.More
Located on Jefferson Ave, at the south end of downtown, Mezza has one of the best menus of Mediterranean fusion you'll ever see. This is the ideal establishment for Italian, Greek, and Turkish cuisine to culminate.
We were a party of 4. Ordered 4 different appetizers. One was supposed to come with entrees. Didn't. The short rib app (Moroccan cigars) was 98% dough. The israeli salad - we sent back it was that bad. The halloumi cheese - we just couldn't...finish it...none of us liked it. The falafel, which was my husband's app, he enjoyed. For entrees, we ordered the falafel (not great), crispy cauliflower (eh) and a salad -decent and chicken shish kabob - a lot of pieces and decent. And finally the braised lamb shank, which was also good. They were out of duck - 2 of us wanted it - and we had a 6:00PM reservation. I would not go back. But I will say the wait staff were excellent.More
We enjoyed our dinners at Mezza and liked the variety of dishes they offer. We started with the Mezza sampler of three salads and each of enjoyed a different entree. I ate the Moroccan Chicken Trajete which came with couscous. The service was very pleasant...and the decor is comfortable and attractive. However, the value is not good because every entree was $34 to $38 and coffee is $5. The restaurant allows you to bring your wine or the bill would have been much higher.More
1. Mid to upper $30 entrees are not worth the price. 2. Worst octopus (appetizer) I've ever tried. 3. 45 min gap between the appetizer plates cleared (with the bread basket) and entrees... My waitress nowhere to be found. Another waiter explained that the kitchen...is overrun.. Yet ppl who came after us finished their dinner b4 ours was brought out. Incompetent argumentative waitress breaks off the cork of $150 wine, crumbles the remainder and then insists taking the bottle to the back so 'it could be properly decanted'... What a waste of life.. Never again...More
My friend and I each ordered the Beef Short Rib Hummus Bowl for lunch, which was $18. There was a large portion of hummus which rimmed the bowl with an additional amount on the bottom of the bowl. On top of hummus was a lot...of sauteed onions, some carrot pieces, and a few "shreds" of short ribs. So basically $18 for some hummus with sautéed onions. We did complain and they promptly brought us some additional meat to share, which was actually the amount that should have been served for one person. Although we were disappointed in the meat portion/ratio of this meal, the hummus was excellent👌, as well as the flavor of rib mixture 😋. But I cannot give anymore than a "3" because of the lack of meat. I do find the prices considerably higher than other Mediterranean or Middle Eastern restaurants, but must say the food is excellent, but portions are on the small side.More
The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent. We were seated promptly and give the QR code to scan the menu. To start we ordered the hummus and eggplant spread. It came with warm pita bread and both were delicious. The lamb shank entree was...excellent. The lamb was cooked perfectly and fell off the bone. The sautéed shrimp with orzo was also very good. Overall it was an excellent experience and we will be back!More
Wonderful middle eastern cuisine. Each dish perfectly prepared. Very high quality, fresh and tasty. Friendly, efficient service.
