If you want real authentic Chinese food in teh Wayne area, this is the place to come. There are lots of dishes that you would not normally see in other so called Chinese restaurants. The fish filet with pickled mustard green soup is one of my favorites. I was a little hesitant to try it when I first saw this... More

Since folks have used words like best, love, amazing, delicious, authentic etc. figured hell I needed to get me some of this magic Sichuan, being a fan of bold spice and wok prepared dishes, I hauled my butt out to Wayne with all the glowing reviews fresh in my head eager to indulge. From the outside the place is rather... More

The restaurant is located in a big shopping area that includes a mall and several strip centers - not where I would expect to find a really good Chinese restaurant. HOWEVER - this one meets the hopes for a great place to eat. The portions are large, the food well prepared, and the ambiance pleasant. I would not hesitate to... More

It is often hard to find non generic Chinese food in the suburbs. This places is a pleasant exception. Menu goes way beyond chicken with broccoli :). Lots of regional dishes. I like Szechuan so I was happy. Food is nice and flavorful, the only let down was shrimp fried rice that we got for my 3 year old. It... More

Absolutely terrific Chinese food. Well prepared and a great value. The crispy sea bass is first rate and service is very good.

We stopped into CD 23 for a quick dinner. The food was very disappointing. The hot and sour soup was the only good thing we ate. My Kung Pou chicken had an off taste and was not good. My wife's entrée was also not very good. The service was below par. There are many other better choices in the immediate... More

This restaurant is home to some tasy and authentic chinese food. Their snow pea leaves is simply superb and their fried sea bass with sweet and sour sauce is to die for. For people who lives in Northern NJ...no need to go to NYC for some awesome chinese food. This is the place to go!

I have eaten at Cheng Du a few times, and have always been impressed with the quality of the food, ambience, and service. It is an award-winning restaurant, whose food is a bit more authentically Chinese than what we have come to know as Chinese/American cuisine. The only downside this past time was my waiter, who was a bit of... More
