We went to Chez Elena Wu, and we did not know anything about it. We were pleasantly surprised! The vegetable dumpling appetizers were great, and the entrees were fresh and delicious! I can't wait to try some more dishes.

There is an old trite saying -if you talk the talk you must be able to walk the walk. We certainly had high expectations from the number of testimonials and certifications plastered on the front window of this establishment.
We were impressed by the ambience when we were shown to table. Cloth tablecloths and napkins and some excellent silverware. The...

I have eaten in the restaurant (very overpriced) and done take out, usually 2x a month. Most recently I ordered shrimp fried rice and shrimp spring rolls. The shrimp had a moldy taste, obviously not fresh. Being pretty much a regular there (I live 5 min. from them), I called thinking they'd replace my order. NO WAY! The woman who...

Sushi - not the best but for a Chinese place it's alright. They certainly give you plenty of sushi rolls for the price. Almost better in price compared to sushi restaurants, but Mikado in Marlton is 10x better.
Chinese Food - Average. no specific dish stands out to me. Crab Ragoons are better elsewhere. It's...

Recently, maybe due to new ownership, it sucks. Pure and simple. Spare ribs were tough, fried rice was made from some foreign substance. Forget about the Kung poa. It was pedestrian. Are there any decent Chinese restaurants left in sj?
This was my third time at this establishment, after having been very satisfied during the first two visits, the the last visit being several years ago. This time however, was a HUGE disappointment and I would not recommend it now, especially since I understand that Elana Woo has actually recently sold it, which would account for the mediocre to horrible...

Spent our Christmas day lunch today at Elena Wu's. we wanted only a simple lunch. A plate of Pan fried noodles with Seafood about $21. Waiter with shaven head comes back to tell us that since it's Christmas they will not serve noodles and lomien. Just beside us was a table of 10 people. We just opened the menu to...

It used to be much better. It wasn't crowded, and my appetizer of fried dumplings was cold. We only had a party of 6, and they had difficulty getting the entrees out on time.
My husband and I go to Elena Wu's now and again, when we can't get in somewhere else. With the two dining rooms, generally getting a table isn't a problem. (But we don't go at 7 pm on Saturday night!) I've also had a business lunch there, and it's also a "compromise" place we can go with our teenaged daughters...
