Fresh local seafood and fair prices. Not pretty to look at but worth the trip for the taste!! We go at least 2 times a year.

We love the fried lobster! And the staff is wonderful. It is an intimate restaurant with rustic decor.`

The food was decent , but the dead flies in the window totally made me lose my appetite . I thought the portions for the price were on the small side , but the server was nice!sorry just being honest..

New to this area and we have found this restaurant to be an excellent seafood restaurant to take friends to when they visit. Agree with the inside being simple as someone else mentioned. Had fried clam strips the last time I was there and still can recall how good they were.

Live in the area and its one of our favorite places to eat. Great broiled of fried shrimp and scallops. Very good service. A must try.

When we first dined at Allen's years ago, you would wait for at least an hour to be seated. The restaurant was always crowded regardless of the time. This continued for many years. The past few years the crowds are not there as in the past. We do not know the reason. The food is plain but very good. There... More

If you are looking for fresh, great food, in a simple atmosphere, then this is the place to go. Everything is fresh and served promptly by the staff. You really get a great meal for a reasonable price. Very simple inside, but well worth the stop. You will not be disappointed. Give it a try

This place is always bustling, but I've never had a wait. Service is prompt and friendly. They give you oyster crackers and horseradish to snack on while you wait (much to the delight of my husband). Salads are fresh and every soup I have tried has been very good. Dungeness crab legs are a hefty portion. Husband liked the crab... More

Do you remember going to the shore for a seafood dinner? This place reminded us how good, local, small independently owned shore restaurants use to be. This part of NJ is so nice. This place is so authentic. We like clams and enjoyed the fried clam dinner. Hope you get a chance to try it.

We have been coming here for several years and recently took friends for their first taste - they loved the place. Its BYOB which we like and the specials are always good. We always start with oysters on the 1/2 shell as they are consistently good. All four dinners that night were excellent and served hot. I suggested a side... More
