Two people were running back and forth from the kitchen, Bar, Cash Register and waiting tables. The schnitzel was cold and the Spatzle came out 10 mins later, warm but not finished off, meaning not fried in butter after being boiled. The bread was way overdone.Others had cabbage dishes but at least one complained about meal being cold later. The... More

The Blue Danube Restaurant is in a working class area of Trenton. It is a converted house made into a restaurant. There are at least 12 tables, 2 of them round that hold 4-6 people. They also have "Specials" on Tues/Wed which are either Polish,German or Hungarian nites. These are in the price range of $10-$12 dollars. Other seafood meals... More

Been going there for years and have never had a bad meal. It reminds me of being in Europe and the food is Polish, German and Hungarian. The staff is friendly. I had this kind of food growing up and miss it because I don't make some of the things. Excellent. It's too bad the location is not in a... More

Trenton is one of the several polish food hot spots in NJ. The Blue Danube is a fine authentic eastern European restaurant in West Trenton. The cabbage rolls and pierogi are top notch. The place has a liquor license, which is unusual for such a small family place. Seating is limited and somewhat rustic, but it is telling that the... More

We were a group of 8 people celebrating a birthday. We really enjoyed ourselves. Great German specialties, very reasonably priced. The service was outstanding. Very attentive. Took our joking and kidding like a champ. It was late when we finished our meals and we were not rushed. Our server even took some group pictures for us. Very nice place and... More

I would recommend you eat out here if you are interested in the WHOLE European experience. That means you are going to have to WAIT to be served but the service is very friendly. Honestly, this will not be a quick meal, but it will be a tasty one. Side note: not located in the best of areas and its... More

The Blue Danube is a wonderful taste of the old world. The restaurant is in a local neighborhood or Trenton, NJ with on street parking. They serve hearty platters of Polish, Hungarian & German foods. Pierogies, Sauerbraten, Wiener Schnitzel, Stuffed Cabbage, etc. You get either soup or salad with dinners. They are reasonably priced, have a small bar to sit... More

We made reservations for 7pm on Saturday. The bad news: Parking is scarce. Upon entering, there is very little room if other people are waiting. You can be shoulder to shoulder while the staff squeezes by to get to and from the kitchen. This restaurant is small! Be sure to make reservations. We waited 20 minutes before we even got... More

The food here is interesting and very good, well prepared, from scratch. Also, it is very reasonably priced, especially if like me, you find just the appetizer is enough for lunch.

My wife and I have eaten here twice in the past month or so, and for the second time, we brought our son and his fiance -- we were convinced it is a destination restaurant. The seating and surroundings reminded us of a Hungarian restaurant, which it is along with being half Polish. the food is really good, but without... More
