My fiancee, who is Hungarian, and I often eat here. The wine, especially the "vampire" variety, is great! The wait staff is excellent, even joking that the wine had a bite! All of the traditional Hungarian dishes are excellent (goulash, paprikash) . My fiancee is also an excellent cook, and she finds this food delicious! We always have a great... More

Got rained out of our ballgame with the Trenton Thunder, and on a night with pretty heavy rain, Trip Advisor mobile suggested this place. Are we ever glad it did! The rain was very heavy, so when we got to the restaurant, we were simply able to park right in front of the door. It's a bit of a "downtown"... More

Old worldand and outstanding food. That's what you find in entering this gem of a restaurant in the old neighborhood. The cream of mushroom soup is absolutely the best I've ever had and the entrees are very hard to choose from. My chicken paprikas, with spaetzles was cooked to delicious perfection, with a perfect, delicate sauce. My husbands jaegerschnitzel was... More

I have been going to the Blue Danube for more years than I care to remember. The menu has been updated over the years to accommodate the population but the heart of it remains the same . Great traditional dishes from Eastern Europe. No only is the food a treat and rarely disappoints but this family run establishment always makes... More

The Blue Danube is a quaint restaurant with a lot of charm. The dining area evokes feelings of being at the home of an older, immigrant relative: relaxed, unassuming, old world decor. The menu is wide and varied, but we came for authentic eastern European and we weren't disappointed. The Blue Danube appetizer sampler was a great way to try... More

This restaurant has been around a long time, and it is in an area of Trenton that is not quite as nice as it once was. Never mind, the atmosphere and food are exactly what the name implies. The menu is rich with central European specialties -- Polish and Hungarian especially, also some Romanian. It seems to be family run... More

I have dined many times in this restaurant and have never been disappointed. My favorite dish is the Gypsy Schnitzel, two pork cutlets served with spaetzle. This is a truly heavenly dish and I heartily recommend it. I recently tried their stuffed cabbage and was truly amazed at how it was like my grandmom's. The atmosphere is quaint and homey...a... The best eastern European restaurant I have ever eaten at in the United States. they have great choices from the Hungarian goulash, chicken paprikash, pierogi, soups, and great light crepes for dessert. The Schnitzel was made to perfection, and the brussel sprouts in onion, bacon and butter are fabulous. how could you not like this place.
