Finally Fine Dining, in Downtown Toms River!

My husband and I recently had dinner there on April 24, for the first time. We were hesitant to dine there at their previous place on Rt. 9, because of its location and small size. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this one was. The atmosphere was tasteful and more spacious. The waiters were... read more

An interesting NYC type restaurant in Toms River. Good authentic Italian fare at a fair price. Although they do have a wine list for bottles, you can bring your own, for those of us that prefer BYOB. A good lunch crowd, but make reservations for dinner.

We both enjoyed our dinners and they also have wine from a Hamburg, New Jersey winery called Cava. I got the veal chop Milanese delicious and spouse got lasagne which was also very good. Manhattan Clam chowder also yummy and the deserts yum! A little pricey, we had very good service and a nice time. Will bring my dad back... More

I had reviewed this restaurant before their move to Washington Street, a smart, attractive venue for this lovely family to expand their business. The overhead on the new digs must be astronomical because the prices have exploded and the portions have shrunken. But that's not the real story here. The family has not increased the kitchen staff to accommodate the... More

So my husband and I are always complaining that we have to travel for a good meal. One night while checking out Groupon we came across the Brooklyn Bistro. We both said for the value what could we lose. An absolute amazing experience. My husband's family is from Altamura Italy - this restaurant brought him home. Sandy is an absolute... More

I live in the Toms River area and noticed this little spot downtown a few times and decided to give it a try. We had a late lunch. By "we" I mean my two best food critics.. My 9 and 7 yr old boys. I ordered an oyster chowder which was very similar to New England Clam. It was pretty... More

Service was terrible. Appetizers were over priced, and we're nothing to brag about. They new there was a problem with our dinners and avoided us. After waiting an hour and a half we left.

Seven people in which my husband and I were part of the group spent New Year's Eve having dinner at Brooklyn Bistro. It was a horrible experience! We had reservations at 7:00 PM and we arrived 15 minutes early. We sat down a little after 7:00 PM. We waited over 45 minutes for a server to come to open the... More

I have attended two large business luncheons here both were a disapointment. First there is no parking. The place is clean and tastfully decorated but is also very small. The real concern was the uninspired service, people who appeared too bored to pay attention to details. I was served uncooked cold meal, sent it back got it back missing half... More
