My husband and I were driving south to AC one evening but decided to find a place for dinner as it was getting late. They offer a dinner buffet on Thursday evenings and it was only about $2 more than their entrees. Highlights of the buffet that night was their lamb tikka masala and their chickpea fritters. They have a... More

My sons were fans long before they invited me along. I was hooked before the meal was served! The atmosphere is very relaxed, dimmed lights and the smell of fresh spices and Naan bread; being baked, while we watched. The chutneys were delicious as well as the appetizers ordered. My favorite dish to date is the mali kafta, but we... More

My family eats here often. The food is always fresh and delicious. The buffet is very popular, and actually converted me to liking Indian food (I used to think it was all too hot!). The buffet allows you to sample an appetizer, several chutneys, salad, 5-6 main dishes and a dessert. I discovered many dishes I really like. And the... More

My wife and I enjoy good Indian cuisine, and we try to make it to Aamantran as often as we can. I have reviewed this place previously, but that was about two years ago. We like good Indian food, and Aamantran still serves first rate dishes. What concerned us was that the number of diners seemed quite small for a... More

Great original food. Fantastic taste. Don't come in a hurry. The only thing I did not like is how slow the service is. They are friendly but take their time. If you have no rush it's great for friends family or business.

My wife and I have been going to Aamantran for about 7 years and it is always spot on and delicious. We've gotten to know Harry, Lee, and Anita very well over the years and no matter how busy they are, they always make us feel like part of the family. Ok, on to the food. My favorites include the... There is a good selection for trying different foods and every week is not the same. Good service ans willing to answer all questions regarding food. Able to take your time and sample any and all dishes on Thursday Nights.

Its rated #1 in Toms River because its the only one!! Driving to a better Indian restaurant in Monmouth County should be considered. Moved from Bergen County where there are excellent places and know NYC restaurants with high standards. Very local for locals... Down the middle in quality, choices with tired decor in strip mall. A full menu w/ many... More

The service in this restaurant is awful. The food isn't that great. The people who came in after us must have been regulars. We had already been seated for about 10-15 minutes with our menus closed, waiting to order, when they walked in. They were warmly greeted, seated, offered a drink. They were brought their drinks, the maitre'd, who was... More
