Have dined in & gotten take out from this place. The food is good, great choices on the menu. Inside is nicely appointed, service very good. Haven't tried the Hibachi table yet, but it's on my list.

Kanji has good sushi rolls, friendly staff. BYO is a plus. I have eaten here many times on lunch, and a few times for dinner before going to the movies. Always satisfied.

It was a typical Japanese restaurant with the food prepared right in front of you. The difference was the extensive menu with excellent sushi. If you go request Kelvin for a very entertaining evening.

I don't like places in strip malls but I can't help but think of going here when I want some good sushi. Very fresh and very good food. It's a bring your own and a liquor store right next door, nice :)

We have lived in Tinton Falls a long time and recently discovered Kanji (through trip advisor). Like others said: ignore the strip mall. We had a great meal and a great time. But don't let the waitress bully you into getting the specials. Also, it's BYOB.

If you can look past the stripmall, Kanji is a great sushi destination near the shore. The decor is very zen-like, modern, and spaciious. The staff is eager to please as well, always offering a smile and suggestions. Aside from the horrible ogida, my girlfriend was throwing up all night. She ordered scallop hibachi. My stomach feels like a greasy bowling ball was sitting it it. Never ever again will i waste my money
