Best ever chicken skewers

The chicken skewers(preferably thighs) are unbelievably tasty and juicy. The duck and avocado salad is wonderful. Other choices are plentiful.

When our NJ friends who lived in Tokyo join us for dinner, they feel like they have returned to Japan.

There are many yakitori place in NJ where they serve a chicken that can be regularly be bought at a food shopping center. This place has a chicken that is so juicy that your tongue will relay a signal to your brain with a flavor alert. LOL. The size of the chicken is very large compared to any other yakitori... More

Verry hip spot with a great food menu and drinks! Sakai, beer and other authentic Japanese wines! Tiny little spot with lots of character. All diferent cuts of meat for yakatori even organs for the adventurous. I've eaten at a lot of Japanese restaurants in NYC and this local spot has been my favorite!

This is certainly one of the best, if not the best Japanese restaurants in Bergen County. The menu is so diverse. The bar menu is also top shelf. Interestingly, the restaurant is split by a wall, such that while one kitchen feeds both rooms, one side is noisy and crowded, but if you make a reservation as we did for... More

Stepping through the doors transports one to the side streets of Tokyo and the great smells, taste and service of a classic Yakitori style restaurant. Be adventuresome and try their delicious specials.

After reading a sterling review in the Record, I tried it. Cannot understand the excitement. The portions are miniscule. I ordered a few different dishes. They added up money-wise but not taste-wise. Also, the decor and colors are gloomy. I'll usually cut some slack for a small, local restaurant, but I just don't see any appeal at this one.

Why 39? Because, in Japanese, the number sounds like, "Thank you." Been here four times, always good. Most of the time, we're the only Westerners in the house. Service is friendly and helpful. But, the food is what draws us back. Thinly sliced fresh raw fish with truffle oil reminds me of LA. The sushi place next door may now... More
