well, maybe not... but if you want to come out for a DSO show locally here it is. Really nice sized little bar. Perfect layout really. I can't speak to the food because I wouldn't think to eat in a place like this. Nice selection of beer. Really close to the George Washington Bridge. I shot right over here from... More

Food was acceptable, drinks reasonably priced and as a live music venue it cant be beat. Reserve a table to guarantee a seat.

I go for the music. Saw Coco Montoya last week. He was great, as he is always. Saw Albert Castiglia last nite in the city. Mexicali , you have to get him to come here. He was great, your Blues people will love him.

I went to Mexicali last night to see a great little band Cabinet. The venue is set up perfectly for rising little bands and they have a great staff. The show was awesome. The food was average and the drinks were alittle pricey. I ordered the sizzling fajita and the steak was cooked fine but the rice was bland and... More

Don't go here for good food or service. Go here for music, if you are following a certain group and want to hear them. The place is spacious and you can see the stage from wherever you sit or stand in the place. The bathrooms are clean. That's the good news. The bad news: this place is SORELY understaffed. we... I'm not much of a Mexican food eater, but menu gave options for mild or spicy. Everyone in our party of 4 raved about their delicious dinners.

The name "Mexicali Blues" allows for blue grass, but, it is stil hard for me to believe that in Northern New Jersey that 50 -100 people might be able to stomach this music. I forget that New Jersey, politically speaking, is a "swing state". The food here is good. If you are looking for "the blues", this is not the... More

Went here to see a Grateful Dead cover band (The Electricians). Staff was very accommodating accepting my reservation for a table for 10. Menu is tex-mex with some good veg options. Generous portions. Extensive beer list. Waitstaff was also very efficient, checking back with the table but without interrupting our musical enjoyment. Good sound system too, and good space for... Great music venue in North NJ - does both seated and standing room shows. Excellent sound, good food and reasonable prices. Its now called Mexicali Live, new owners took over the venue/bar/restaurant about a year and a half ago.
