I am shocked that this being located on the Island that even though it is off season that I really couldn't get a decent seafood dinner. everyone coming through the door before us talked about the Lobster and I guess the hostess must have thought we were with that party and was quite snobbish towards us!! The Waitress was less... More

The Lobster claw is an LBI institution which was recently renovated thanks to Superstorm Sandy. They serve the best New England clam Chowder I've ever had. Their fish is fresh and excellently prepared. We visited again yesterday and were delighted. My dining partner had Barnegat light scallops with wasabi ginger sauce which she said was excellent. I had a nice... More

The overall low ranking is simply not deserved. The previous negative reviews seem totally unjustified. My husband and I ate here last night, September 4th. The food was really very good to excellent. We wanted to eat seafood that was local. I had a huge portion of blackened swordfish. It was delicious. My husband had the broiled scallops which he also... More

Got to the restaurant, it had no ambiance, with spot lights. The place was stark and sterile.. Waitress came out and said she would be a few minutes. The people next to us were complaining that they did not get the proper sides and that her tea was cold. A young couple of girls that came in after us were served... More

Completely rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy. The menu has been updated and they have a new manager. Not fancy but consistently good. Reasonably priced. Good portions. BYOB. Plenty of parking. We particularly like the linguini with white clam sauce and the lobster twin.

We were staying with friends in Surf City and the Lobster Claw was the closest place for take out. There were 6 of us and everyone was pretty happy with their meals. I had a 1 1/4 lb. lobster with 2 sides of broccoli for $17. The prices were fair. Other dishes ordered were the broiled seafood combo, surf &... More

This isn't a fancy upscale place, but the atmosphere is warm and friendly. It looks exactly as it should being on long beach island. We went in the off season so it wasn't crowded. Reasonably priced and GREAT service. Maybe it's because we were the only people in the restaurant, but I'd like to think they act like that with... More

First time at the restaurant. Both of us had lobster salad sandwich plates. Comments: (mostly from by better half as she's more discriminating!) - great sandwich -mostly lobster - roll was fresh - coleslaw - very good - not overloaded with mayo - great french fries - price was reasonable - friendly waitress Overall? - will definitely go back

The waitress was pleasant and that was the only thing about the whole experience that could be considered pleasant! I had the lobster cakes which appeared to be some sort of seafood dip that was breaded and fried. Nothing that resembled lobster meat in them at all. My husbands scallops were rubbery and bland, his clams casino appetizer was served... More
