We have visited yellow fin several times and have enjoyed the experience. However, tonight we had a very disappointing evening. Our meals and service were very good however we were seated near a low class group from Staten Island that didn't know how to behave in a nice restaurant. We tried to enjoy our experience but it was impossible with... More

First off, the food at Yellowfin is outstanding. I had the veal special and it was so good I refused to share. The other people at the table mostly had seafood dishes, and I knew their meals were excellent because the table talk (table yelling?) stopped when the food arrived. My wife had the Cod with Miso and declared it... More

A rousing 5 for food; a 1 for service. Earlier comments are true: expensive (over priced), dark, verrry noisy. Filet Mignon was truly remarkable. Perfectly prepared. Cod with Miso was the best my spouse ever had. Veal was very good. Tuna perfectly prepared. Lobster salad also very good. Service issues would have horrified the cooks who worked very hard to... Truly one of the best meals I have ever had. The fried green tomato, crab and avocado appy put me in culinary heaven. That was followed by one of the best halibut dishes I have ever had. Each bite was a delight. The staff is top notch and know their food and their restaurant. Pricey, but you get a fabulous... More

My wife and I have been going to this restaurant for many years and the quality has steadily declined while the price has risen. Charging NYC prices does not insure equal results. There are better places to eat on the island.

Wife and I went early in the week and total close to $200.00, with tip and BYOB. My salad special was very good, wife's was still wet from cleaning and filled with extraneous fruits and vegetables. Keep it simple would have been much better. My wife had a very spicy halibut dish, I had the miso black cod. The portion... More

Yellow Fin had the best food we ate all week while on the Island. However the noise in the dining room detracted from the experience.

If you are a foodie, this is one of the few options on the island. Yes it's expensive but the quality of the food and staff is consistently good. The menu has a nice variety with some interesting appetizers. It is a nice place for an "adult" dining experience.

Absolutely delicious but watch out for the sticker shock for the specials. Our guest ordered the steak special which was very large but we were shocked at the $70 price for his entree. For that price, it should have been hand fed to him. Service started off great with very knowledgeable staff but had to hunt someone down for water... More

Too dark and could not see what we were eating. To loud, could not carry on a conversation with our friends, and over priced. Have been coming here for years and this will be our last. Prices have been going up every year but we always had a good meal until this year Not enjoyable
