Great for a traditional American meal

Friendly and luminous inside; not much room. Great for a a traditional breakfast or lunch. Food is solid and fresh. Much of it is prepared under your eyes. Lots of guests come for takeout lunch sandwiches. Easily spend less than $15.00

An original! Wonderful old train car design and decor that is still from the 50's! Exactly what you would expect from the folklore of the Jersey Diner tradition. This one leads the way!

Summit dinner was recommended by some local friends for breakfast. Service was good, prices very reasonable. Had the spinach feta omlet. Have to say best that I have had. Great place for a quick meal.

The Summit Diner is truly a landmark with a friendly hometown atmosphere. This diner has been around forever. Interior looks exactly like it has for the past 40 years. Paid a visit for lunch in October while in town. No menu, just order from the black board posted up on the wall. Just a few steps from the Summit Train... More

They have great breakfast and pancakes. For lunch or dinner I recommend the soups and a Hilltop burger- not the regular one- must be the hilltop. Great mashed potatoes too- sub the fries for mashed!

Need a quick, basic meal on the run? This is the place. Good, standard food served fast and without the hassle of a smile. You pay extra for that. Either way, i'd go back here for sure.

Visited the hometown and had breakfast here. Never went in there while I lived in Summit, which is too bad. It's just a small diner by the train station but they did a good breakfast, what more can you ask for?! Friendly people but then everyone we encountered in New Jersey was friendly. It's a great state and Don't knock... More

Huge portions of food. Cook right and delivered quickly. Family owned and run. Almost always a line so hard to get in but well worth the wait!

Found myself in Summit around breakfast time, so I plopped down at the counter here. The waitress greeted me quickly and had a coffee in front of me in no time. I ordered the eggs and sausage. I got two awesome sausages, two eggs and some fried potatoes. The sausage and eggs were very tasty. The breakfast potatoes need work.... More
