I've been everywhere In the USA and New Jersey Diners remain one of the few institutions unique to the state of. New Jersey. Some diners are formulaic and call themselves diners when they are simply restaurants. The Summit Diner is an authentic New Jersey diner complete with rough edges but terrific food delivered fast, tasty and hot. We have been... More

You may have to wait, you may have to sit at the counter, but it's worth the wait. The service isn't the friendliest, but the food is delicious and the prices are great.

I go to this spot weekly for their soups which are always good, and usually some eggs with mashed potatoes. All that for $6.00. If you want something quick and reasonable it is great. They also have great Greek salads, and fresh sandwiches, and you must try the HILLTOP BURGER- that is awesome in deluxe form, and great coffee. I... More

New jersey is famous for its diners and Summit Dinner is an old railroad style car that is held together by the grease and I mean this in the best way! Awesome breakfast from pancakes to eggs and great potatoes. Everything is made to order. It is well priced and always has a line! If you want to eat a... More

Best breakfast in the East. Place is always crowded, so be patient for a seat. A stool seat on the left side of the diner allows you top watch the grill man operate. A true artisan. Wait staff is very good - pleasant and quick. Don't be put off by the age (which is obvious) of the diner - it's... More

Even though the diner the most modern place the food is good and the give you plenty of it. Last time I was in there I ordered bacon and three of us ate from the one serving. Way too much for one person to eat. I've only gone for breakfast so can't speak about any other meal.

It's a Jersey diner. Doesn't pretend to be anything else. But if you like towering, hand-caerved ham sandwiches, you'll love the Summit Diner. Go for breakfast and order the pancakes. You'll feel like you're somewhere on a lonely highway in the place that attracts all the long haul truck drivers. But the guy on the next stool could be a... More

I love, love, love the Summit Diner! If you're lucky enough to get a chance to eat at the Summit Diner, you feel like you've traveled to another era. The legend is that Hemingway ate there. (It could just as easily have been Sam Spade or Micky Spillane.) Mind you - this isn't a museum or stuffy survivor of the... More
