This old railroad car diner has been here in Summit for a long time - it seems like forever. It is old both inside and out. The food is honest and always good, the service fast and friendly, and everything is inexpensive and a great value. If you want something special and they can make it, they will. This is... More

I enjoy stopping in for breakfast and eating in an old dining car. They will make an omlet exactly to your specifications. It comes with toast and hash browns. The service is fast.

Tiny, railroad car style diner in the middle of one of the nicer towns in northern NJ. Just a few booths and a line of counter stools that overlook the griddle make for a cozy experience. Staff is very nice. The corned beef hash was the best homemade hash ever eaten by this family. We're not sure why but they... More

Perhaps nostalgia clouds my tastebuds, hence the better than average current rating, but having grown up in Summit, and claiming the Summit Diner as my greasy spoon standard, I was disappointed to go back with my husband, and not have the food be a wonderful as I remember. Sandwiches were good, but Waldorf Salad I ordered was off target, missing... More

I grew up in New Providence next door to Summit and I would go here every chance I could get. Then when I grew up and moved away I would miss going there. I came back recently to take care of my father's affairs and with the help of my brother sell the family home. Though it was a sad... More

If you want to have a true diner experience...this is it! After having grown up in New Jersey, the first thing that caught my eye was the menu listing of Taylor Ham! Oh my, I remember that so well from my childhood. I ordered scrambled eggs, Taylor Ham and hash browns with Rye toast. My wife had eggs with sausage.... More

This is a real diner - in the same spot since the 1930's and looking like a railroad dining car. The food is great. Good soups and main course dishes, but they really shine at breakfast. The décor hasn't changed much in the last 30 years, but it's really a fun experience.
