Great place to eat on the ocean. Staff was very nice. Kitchen changed up the specials to accommodate my request. We had dinner but the day must be awesome as right on the beach. Good wine list.

Unfortunately, our B&B experienced a power outage the only evening that we were in Spring Lake, for a wedding the next day. We found out from friends that the Black Trumpet, a few blocks away, had power, a restaurant, and good food. Four of us went there, and none of us were very hungry having had a late lunch, but... We ate at the Black Trumpet Friday night after having not been there for several years. It just wasn't what we remembered when they were in another location around the corner. The food was "fine" but it wasn't gourmet like we remembered it was years ago. Also, I wasn't paying attention and the waitress poured almost half a bottle of... More

We had my daughters bridal shower here in Feb 2014 and have returned twice to eat, good is always good with excellent service. It is in an old Victorian building so there is only so much they can do, but it is clean and well attended to. Easy to find for out of town guests who were later coming to... More

This is our second time back and enjoyed it as much as the first time. We were fortunate to have a warm Saturday night so we dined on the porch and were also fortunate that they had a fantastic folk singer for the outside diners. Food was great and the wine list was resonably priced. We will be back again!

I had the Bone-in Filet Mignon and my life-partner had the Grouper, with crab meat!! Both were exceptional Entrees!!!! The filet cut like butter and melted in your mouth!!!!!! Service was very good, no complaints. The next time we go to dinner, next summer,I would definitely request a table on the porch, facing the ocean, not the pool. The room... More

Located where we were staying in the Grand Victorian Hotel, we found a nice fixed-priced menu for sandwiches and salads. However, for. Little more we were served a three-course crab cake platter. It was a good value, nicely presented.

This restaurant was recommended, and convenient to our hotel. The food was adventurous in a non-skilled fashion. Soft shelled crabs in a gravy over cold lobster salad (swimming in mayo) on greens. Just a mess. Sorry to be so blunt, but all five of us were unhappy with our meals. Maybe it was an off day.

I have taken three different girlfriends to the Black Trumpet this season and each time was lovely. I like that you can make a reservation and catch the sea breezes. The staff is excellent. All three times we had wonderful service and were never rushed (we did gab about old times way too long) the lunch menu is perfect with... More

My wife, myself and 4 other couples visited. Our server Mike was excellent. Taking care of 10 people at once is not easy. Everyone enjoyed their expertly pre fared food. It has a seasonal liquor license. Come mid-November it is a BYOB until mid April.
