I had the Bone-in Filet Mignon and my life-partner had the Grouper, with crab meat!! Both were exceptional Entrees!!!! The filet cut like butter and melted in your mouth!!!!!! Service was very good, no complaints. The next time we go to dinner, next summer,I would definitely request a table on the porch, facing the ocean, not the pool. The room... More

Located where we were staying in the Grand Victorian Hotel, we found a nice fixed-priced menu for sandwiches and salads. However, for. Little more we were served a three-course crab cake platter. It was a good value, nicely presented.

This restaurant was recommended, and convenient to our hotel. The food was adventurous in a non-skilled fashion. Soft shelled crabs in a gravy over cold lobster salad (swimming in mayo) on greens. Just a mess. Sorry to be so blunt, but all five of us were unhappy with our meals. Maybe it was an off day.

I have taken three different girlfriends to the Black Trumpet this season and each time was lovely. I like that you can make a reservation and catch the sea breezes. The staff is excellent. All three times we had wonderful service and were never rushed (we did gab about old times way too long) the lunch menu is perfect with... More

My wife, myself and 4 other couples visited. Our server Mike was excellent. Taking care of 10 people at once is not easy. Everyone enjoyed their expertly pre fared food. It has a seasonal liquor license. Come mid-November it is a BYOB until mid April.

We had 6 meals. 2 Were the lobster tower at $49. Both were cold, not even warm. Even the mashed potatoes were cold. Waitress took it back. Microwaved our plates and returned it. Ever have microwave lobster? The other 4 meals were good. This is the second time our party of 6 had to send an entrée back. Too bad,... More

This was our first visit to Spring Lake, and our first day there. The Black Trumpet was recommended by a local shopkeeper (We tend to rely on residents rather than visitors when selecting places to eat while on vacation). Unfortunately, we struck out this time. When we arrived, we were told that there was no outside seating available, even though... More

We ate dinner here on a busy Saturday night. The food was very good and we had an excellent server. There was no vegetarian menu items but the special pasta was made vegetarian for me. My DH had soft shell crabs which he said were good. We both had good salads to start and excellent desserts!

Celebrated our anniversary last night at the Black Trumpet. Wonderful dinner and service. Both our dinners were delicious. The staff moved us to a nicer table when they learned it was our anniversary and that we were married at The Grand Victorian. Thanks again Mike!

My title just about sums it up. We arrived in Spring Lake in time for an early lunch and were seated on the porch right away. While the food was fine but not particularly memorable, the view of the ocean, the attentive service, refreshed ice water, napkins and tablecloth make this a delightful place to lunch in Spring Lake rather...
