Cafe Artist is such a little gem. Just had an egg sandwich on croissant. Out of this world. Great stop in a great little town where when it comes to food......this place is número UNO!

We were invited by friends to experience Chef Cosimo's pre-fixed dinners last night. We had a great time eating outside ( even though it down poured for 15 min) Very relaxing , food was great and at least we did not know what was on the menu, it was a nice surprise from salad to desert. Well worth your time!

We were in Spring Lake for a beach weekend and decided to visit Cafe Artist once again since we enjoyed the salad so much the last time we were there. I am glad to report that the salad is still fantastic. We also had pasta dishes, one with muchrooms and one with red sauce. Both were very good. If you... More

Chef Cosimo is your host for the Spring Lake version of Tony and Tinas wedding. What to expect: no menu ..no credit cards accepted..no indication of what you will pay for your meal...BYOB.. one seating only for dinner, limited seating. The fun started when Chef Cosimo began serving his pre-fix dinner.....salad...pasta....mixed meat plate w veggies and dessert....In between courses he... More

Our first early morning trip down to the shore since the rebuild completion in Belmar. We usually walk the boardwalk then eat at Buttered Biscuit in Bradley Beach, which is a fine place. But we stumbled onto this little gem and loved it. Less formal than the BB, and very much a one-man show when we ate there at about... More

The food here is all home made incredible Italian food. Cosimo actually has a reataurant here and one in Tuscany and I'm sure he can tell you the story of how he ended up in Spring Lake. He does special pre-fixed dinners Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. They're a great value and a lot of fun. BYOB.

If you are visiting, passing through, or are within 50 miles of Spring Lake, then you have to stop at the Cafe Artiste and give it a try. The food is amazingly authentic Italian and the owner, Cosimo, is a character and a half. I could write a sitcom just about him! He speaks in real broken english which just... More

Wow, thought I had dropped into Italy. How refreshing to find this cafe. Just like visiting an authentic European cafe. None of the traditional fast food American nonsense here. The owner does all the cooking himself. Serves you from behind the cafe counter. Love it, he takes great pride in his home made dishes. Tried the lentil soup...mmmm good just... More

I stopped in and found this restaurant to be a unique experience. Very Special setting one would think your in a little cafe in Europe. The caring owner who takes pride in the food that is freshly prepared. You will not find a menu it is just like a cafe in Tuscany you walk in and it is whatever you... More
