I have been to this restaurant several times in the past. I moved out of the area many years ago and recently met friends and tried this restaurant again. We had the mushrooms and garlic shrimp for appetizers. The mushrooms were good but I found the shrimp to be bland. The sauce was tasty but it seemed the shrimp were... More

My wife and I recently dined at this restaurant. I think that it is a fun place to eat if you are in this area. The food was average at best. The calamari was rubbery. The sea food boulabaise was bland. The atmosphere is cheery. I would not go back for seconds. Lest you forget, this is in South River.... More

Everything is good here and the Paella is amazing, but I'm going to order the pork and the clams whenever I'm there. The roasted potatoes are so good we try often to replicate them at home and can't come close to being as good as theirs are. The restaurant is upscale but the bar in front is casual. Service is... We never get tired of the food. I have been a loyal customer for the last 15 years. The portions are huge. Be prepared to feed a small family with one dish. We love the stuffed flounder and the salmon is good to perfection. We also love the red Sangria. They redid the interior a few years ago, so it... More

Went there with a rather large party for the rehearsal dinner (why people need to rehearse eating is the subject for a more philosophical treatise). The service was better than adequate, both on timing and refills. The food choices were actually better than the wedding dinner itself (held next day at different location and by unrelated vendor). My veal cutlet... More

This was an awards banquet for a Boy Scout Council and there were 150 people in attendance, and only 6 wait staff. To start there were appetizers, but there was no silverware in the serving line, you were expected to go to your table to eat the appetizers. Then the salads were not on the table ahead of time, they... More

Its a good 25 minutes for me but i go here 3 to 4 times a year. Start with a really good pitcher of Sangria and enjoy the salad and bread before you eat a rediculous meal that you'll need to wrap and finish the next day.

Well if you have never been to South River before this is the land where the Portuguese and Brazilian have settled. The Ria Mar is a top of the line, elegant, classy restaurant. This place is a must go if you are in the area. If you like a drink the signature sangria is a must have (red, white, blue,... More
