Le Kiosque was a blend of down home Caribbean and upscale South Orange elegance. The decor was very cool, calm and relaxing, elegant. The food looked very pretty and "French Caribbean" on the plate. However, after that it was pretty much standard ethnic Caribbean restaurant style. Service was hit or miss. Although pleasant, no one seemed in much of a... More

I was looking to eat haitian food and was told about a new place that opened up in south orange. The decor was fabulous and the service impeccable. It wasn't crowded so at first i was apprehensive. We meet one of the owners named Yves. He made us feel quite comfortable and welcomed. We tried the goat, pork, chicken in... More

Truly an interesting restaurant with generous portions of Haitian food showing the French and Carribean influences. The black rice, chicken dishes and fish entrees are very good. The piklitz is very hot, vindaloo hot to mix cultures. The service is uneven, at best. Don't go if you have a movie to catch. And they deserve some sort of award for... More

Before placing our orders, my husband showed the waiter our restaurant.com coupon worth $25 that we had just purchased on 12/21/11 -- NINE DAYS BEFORE OUR VISIT. The only restriction was to make a minimum purchase of $35, and we planned to order... More

I am from the Caribbean and I judge most places pretty harshly. Luckily for this place they did an amazing job. The appetizers and entrees are great. And above all else its authentic. The decor inside is very well done and the live music on weekends can't be beat. The black rice and griot felt like my grandma made it.... More

First time there; the place has only been open a couple months. It's the old Pizza Hut that has been nicely converted in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Apparently both cooks called out sick the night we went so the owner had to call his wife in to cook. This caused an unfortunate delay. The wait staff is new also... More
