I order take out from Above a few times a week. Most of the time their food is good, but sometimes can have a weird taste to it or is overcooked. The kitchen stays open til 12 which is a benefit for people who occasionally eat later in the evening. I would recommend this restaurant for both its convenience and... More

Sometimes the food has been great other times not so much hence, if they could keep a better Chef it would be an excellent choice for residents and out of town guest. The location is good though parking for the handicap is an issue. The restaurants absolutely needs to go back to Happy Hour everyday from 4-7PM,except Sat. And plenty... More

Extensive menu, professionally executed -- rarely disappointing. The place doesn't soar, but it always offers a comfortable spot with satisfying fare. The service is friendly and attentive and the space is attractive and comfortable. It's often low-key, but on a weekend turns into a lively -- sometimes boisterous -- in-town scene.

The typical New Jersey restaurant shooting for the upscale category but attempting to capture all in-between clientele. To be honest, I'm not turned off by this restaurant. Some of the Pasta dishes are great but they are inconsistent in quality of presentation and taste. Nice place to bring out-of-town guests for dinner if only to show them you have a... More

Our party of 6 had dinner here before the Seton Hall basketball game last night. The decor was very nice. My friend's son and his girlfriend arrived ahead of us and thought perhaps the place was "too fancy". We almost bailed because were were dressed casual. We forged ahead... it was fine. I read some reviews prior to going. It... More

We went here for Sunday brunch. Food was mediocre at best. The 2nd cup of coffee we ordered never came. Service was poor! The waiter didn't write down the order and promptly screwed it up. Waited at least 45 mins. For first 2 of 4 orders( we're talking eggs here!) the next 2 were forever in coming. We made it... More

Early even dinner on a weekend left me somewhat satisfied. Ambiance was nice but food needs more flavor and sharper execution for the price.

I wind up here about once every couple of months, and have dined here since they opened (that's at least one chef ago, maybe more). The menu has some interesting things on it, but the food never seems to live up to expectations. It reminds me more of an upscale hotel restaurant than a gem that's kicking butt and drawing... More

This is a unique setting for a restaurant. It is above a gourmet grocery store in the heart of South Orange, NJ. It is an attractive space with a pleasant outdoor dining area. Ralph, our server, answered our questions and made a few suggestions. The menu was an interesting mix of offerings and the food was quite good. Why the... More

But if it's food quality you are looking for, this is not the place. Large menu, interesting location (above small grocery store) but food is lackluster.
