We love going to The Bridge either on the off chance or when we have booked a meal with friends or family. The food is always first class and we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and great Staff. Glyn and his team always greet us with a warm welcome and accomodate us. We love to sit outside in the summer an... More

We came as a party of seventeen. The food was served promptly, at the same time, and the food was cooked correctly- no mean feat. I had venison, and stipulated that I wanted it medium rare. Medium rare it was and considering people were cooking under pressure, in a small kitchen, for a huge party, that's classy.

Not being a lover of Sunday Lunch meals as they are always disappointing ..raw veg. stringy meat naff puddings etc. We were visiting friends who said this place had to be tried...and they were right ! ..big time. A sumptuous plate of Herefordshire Beef with eight ..yes eight veg to go with it. The veg was varied fresh and very... More

Booked a little 1 nighter at the Bridge Inn, as Ma & Pa were staying nearby, we've eaten there before and knew it was good. Camped in the field next to the pub, fine by us. Had a lush walk along The Cats Back (Black Hill) to Hay Bluff and back for a couple of pints, quick shower (all clean... More

A very warm friendly greeting upon entering this lovely pub. We decided to eat outside next to the brook and weeping willows as it was such a warm evening. The food is excellent, all three courses spot on and service was first class. Thank you to the young lady who looked after us so well and always with a smile.... More

This is a charming local pub, situated on a stunning riverbank and very close to Hay-on-Wye. Fantastic food: the kind of meal where you want everything on the menu! Huge portions, great choice and warm, friendly service.

My husbands birthday on the 20th June so we decided to go out for a meal with two friends. We arranged to meet at The Bridge Inn , Michaelchurch Escley HR2 0JW. A 16th Century Riverside Inn which was difficult to find but having found it it was well worth the effort. A large menu to choose from and the... More

This country pub is a real surprise: a marvellous menu of absolutely delicious locally-sourced dishes, beautifully presented. You won't find the Bridge because you are passing by: few top of the range gastro pubs can be quite so off the beaten track. But the restaurant and its chef have longstanding reputations preceding them and it is well known in the... More

The bridge is a secluded pub, with very friendly staff who try and accomodate anything you ask for. We have called number of times at short notice, and they have always fitted us in. Last time we went we had rib eye steak, and although quite expensive its probably one if the best cooked and prepared steaks I have ever... More
