We live in the Bristol area and decided on one of this years rare summers days to visit Hay bluff and Hay on Wye'.Trip Advisor reviews suggested this establishment would be an ideal stop for lunch.True it certainly is an idyllic location but generally the pub is quite scruffy and needs some Tlc to match its stunning spot.it was also... this pub is a hidden gem..... excellent beers and ciders are not a bad place to start, but the main reason for going here is the sublime food.... more expensive than your average pub grub but certainly not average food! been here a few time with friends and never disappointed..... menu changes weekly so you have to be quick to... Went to the Bridge Inn when we stayed at the owners B & B. Very welcoming pub and restaurant. Extensive menu, I struggled to make my choice. Ended up going for sole and wife had chicken. Nice bottle of wine. Overall was a great experience and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Visited with my friend on a Sunday evening. The restaurant uses local meat of excellent quality. We both ordered lamb which was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. The food arrived piping hot (not always the case in some restaurants. The temperature of the food is sometimes sacrificed for the sake of the presentation). The vegetables were on the side and... We camped on Sat 8th August, and booked a table in the restaurant. They were really busy with a wedding party, but were still really welcoming and helpful to us. The staff were rushed off their feet but did not appear stressed so a great atmosphere was maintained. We had our puppy with us and didn't realise he wouldn't be... More

What a shame that the friendly staff here have to work for an owner who is so out of control. We had heard great things about the Bridge Inn and being a lover of great steak I was quite happy to pay the fairly steep costs. What we got was, however, hugely disappointing. The sirloin was well done when I... More

A great picturesque English pub venue. Set by the river this is an idealistic setting for a pub lunch or a beer or tow in the garden

We have just spent a lovely walking weekend in the Welsh borders and stayed here at the B&B on the Saturday night. We were given a warm welcome by Gisela and shown to our very well appointed room. We ate in the pub which was extremely busy hosting two birthday parties and a hen party as well as regular customers.... More

I visit the bridge about once a month and have never been less than impressed. The food is always first class. The staff are always very keen to help especially when I have arrived with my Mother in her huge and heavy wheelchair! Last time, without Mother, we stayed in the B&B and being able to drink and sit by... More
