This place is easily one of the best south Indian restaurants I have been to in the US and not mention it's special appeal to my Karnataka taste. The food takes you to bangalore if the place had any appeal to your culinary memories. Their buffet is awesome and their dosas are the best I have had in NJ.

The dinner buffet had the variety of dishes to choose from. Everything was definitely fresh and to my taste. Unfortunately, we were asked to leave as soon as we finished eating, since there were people waiting for the table, that ruined team dinner event. Other than that, good place to eat.

Hoysala has all the trappings to attract a South Indian - idlis, dosas, ragi and rava dosas, sambar and chutneys, puris and masala. Of course has the full course of naans, vegetables, curd rice and desserts too. But the taste and recipes are pretty much basic just to satisfy your tummy and not the tongue. Worth a visit!

This restaurant offers a decent variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian options in buffet. They are also reasonably priced. I have been there multiple times. They usually offer a dosa or idly to go with the dinner. Desert choices are not very good and that is something they can improve. Food is slightly spicier than the other Indian restaurants in... Visited for dinner. Food was poor to mediocre. Will not visit again. Were 5 people so ordered plenty of items and hence had opportuntiy to taste several items. Nothing was good. Will not visit again. Service was excellent, very polite waiters but poor tasting food.

Wondering where to go for some South Indian food? You can safely visit this place without any hesitation and try their buffet. Good spread and evenly balanced with veg and non veg food. I may not visit this place often because of its price tag. It's definitely not expensive, but I won't consider this cheap as well for a standard... More

Wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian appetizers and entrees. The onion and spinach pakoda were delicious crispy fritters. Vegetable biryani was a delicious blend of basmati rice cooked with fresh vegetables, coconut puree and spices. Spring dosa was a delicious rice and lentil crepe stuffed with potato onion masala and sautéed vegetables. Make sure to save room for dessert. The... More

I had lunch buffet on Saturday. Food was good, but I was disappointed as Biryani was not served on the platter that day.

In my 2 visits to this place in last couple of months, I have had good but not great experience at this place. If you have a good appetite, buffet is value-for-money. Buffet spread is good (am a vegetarian) but the quality lacks consistency. So you can stuff yourself but you are more likely to feel full than satisfied. Have... More

Hello Mr Sumit, Sorry to hear that you didn't feel the food at Hoysala Restaurant was exceptionally good. We strive hard to provide high quality food with a memorable taste of food from south India. Don't judge us by your previous experience alone and give us another try. Look forward to making your dining and day... AWESOME. Regards, Team Hoysala More

Lunch buffet - went to Hoysala for a family afternoon lunch. The restaurant is fairly large decent sized good seating space. Unlike some other Indian places in this category it looks fairly organized to handle crowds with a efficient queue system. Sitting is standard - will not win any interior decoration awards :) Functional. The buffet was set up in... More
