Great lunch spot

We stopped at Smitty's on our way down to Ocean City, NJ. While the restaurant gets very crowded at night and waits are typically long, it was a great place to stop for lunch. My husband enjoyed the marinated tuna special and the kids and I ordered the fried shrimp, which was very good as well... read more

This is what the Jersey Shore used to be like. The food is good and the prices are too. The wait can be very long, so you you really have to time it right. Early afternoon or later, like 8:15.

My family has been coming to Smith's for as long as I can remember (30+ years) and it's definitely one of the better "shore institutions". A couple of pro-tips: 1) Parking will probably be a bit of a nightmare. If it's "peak hours" save yourself some aggravation and just park on the street a block or so away. 2) Expect... More

This place looks like a dive and doesn't have air conditioning but it's right on the water and you don't need it. You can stroll in- in casual beach attire and not feel uncomfortable. When I first walked in I wasn't sure what to expect because I'm kind of picky when it comes to sea food places. I eat at... More

The best part of our meal was the wine we brought. After waiting 2 hours for a table, we ended up getting food that was just a step better than a diner. The place is disgustingly dirty. Don't use the bathrooms! The restaurant ran out of specials by 8pm. We will never waste our time or money on Smitty's again.... More

Many people love this place. I am not one of them. Tight parking, no AC. Long wait for average food. There are much better places in the area for fresh seafood

The season is only a few weeks longer before the Clam Bar closes for the winter. This has been a family favorite for forty years. It has little atmosphere but sits next to the bay. It's not air conditioned although there is normally a cool breeze and plenty of fans. No need to dress up. This place is come as... More

First time at Smitty's and it was a ton of fun. Bring a cooler with your favorite beverages because you'll need it for the >1 hour wait, but it's totally worth it. They have an employee walking around with cups and a bottle opener to help out. A new "must go" for us when at the shore.
