Owned and operated by the Hieb family since 1987, The Doc’s Place offers inside and, seasonally permitted, alfresco dining in a luxury yacht basin - Harbour Cove Marina. We are open 11 months of the year (closed in January) and serve a traditional breakfast on Sundays and lunch and dinner daily (see www.thedocsplace.com for seasonal hours). Luncheons include jumbo lump crab meat Caesar salad – delicious; cheese steaks and Kobi burgers – the best around. Dinners embrace fresh fish; steaks and chops (our beef is competitive with any ‘steak’ house), shell fish - shrimp, clams and mussels; and accompaniments such as pomme de terre frits, cooked-to-order pasta and seasonal vegetables from New Jersey & the world! Our bar introduced this area to 7½ ounce martinis and Manhattans, poured to a meniscus! Our wine list is an oenophile’s delight. Our limited seating Thanksgiving Day dinner is legendary. Our private parties are spectacular. Try us, again!

Clam Chowder Better Then Clam Bar

Always great for lunch. Fresh sandwiches and great soups. Clam Chowder is the best. Nice dinner meals, but we prefer lunch. Great view of the bay and excellent service.

My husband and I planned on getting married on his parents deck on the back bay. Well hurricane Joaquin had other plans for us. The weather turned out to be terrible and we didn't know what to do. We contacted Jeff from Doc's Place and he has as come in as soon as possible. An hour later, my husband and... More

After a not so great visit last year, decided to give Doc's another chance. Glad I did. They had a special Winter dinner menu three course meal for $25 which was outstanding. The 3 lamb chops for an appetizer were delicious. Filet mignon, tender and perfectly done, side of fries and string beans, made a great meal. Bread pudding with... More

The first week of November I made a reservation for 2 for Thanksgiving for an inside table at 4:30pm for my mother who is 88 and myself. I made the reservation in person after having a nice lunch. The reservation was made in front of the hostess, my waiter and the bartender on duty. I was second on the list... More

A friend and I dined at Docs for restaurant week. The outside porch was a welcome surprise and possibly worth a second trip one sunset. Otherwise, I doubt I'd return. My friend enjoyed her appetizer, the chopped salad. I found the lamb a bit disappointing as the herb crust overwhelmed the meat. I am not sure about the goat cheese... More

We had a fantastic lunch on a beautiful day out on the deck looking at the boats. The food was very tasty and the service perfect. I really enjoyed the grilled chicken with veggies and rice. It was served hot and tasty. The house salad was a perfect way to start the meal.

Based upon reviews we decided to give this restaurant a try. It was off season, so no wait. We were pleasantly surprised at the decor and menu. Both were very nice. The drinks arrived as well as some garlic bread. Both were fine. Sadly, things started to deteriorate about this point! One of us ordered the Veal Carbonara and the... More

Crab trap had a 1 1/2 hour wait. Ancorage bar an hour. Doc's seated us right away and it was a real treat . Swordfish with crab topping not on the menu but they were very accommodating. Our waitress was super and the view of the bay excellent. Guitar player played all my favorite songs. Will not even bother with... More

My brother and his fiancé were supposed to have their wedding at my parents' house this past weekend. As a result of the 65 mph winds, all of the rain, and coastal flooding, the tent company they hired refused to put up the tents on my parents' dock on the 17th Street lagoon in OC. With 29 hours to go... More
