Description: Owned and operated by the Hieb family since 1987, The Doc’s Place offers inside and, seasonally permitted, alfresco dining in a luxury yacht basin - Harbour Cove Marina. We are open 11 months of the year (closed in January) and serve a traditional breakfast on Sundays and lunch and dinner daily (see www.thedocsplace.com for seasonal hours). Luncheons include jumbo lump crab meat Caesar salad – delicious; cheese steaks and Kobi burgers – the best around. Dinners embrace fresh fish; steaks and chops (our beef is competitive with any ‘steak’ house), shell fish - shrimp, clams and mussels; and accompaniments such as pomme de terre frits, cooked-to-order pasta and seasonal vegetables from New Jersey & the world! Our bar introduced this area to 7½ ounce martinis and Manhattans, poured to a meniscus! Our wine list is an oenophile’s delight. Our limited seating Thanksgiving Day dinner is legendary. Our private parties are spectacular. Try us, again!

Went here on a Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated right away upon arriving. The restaurant was busy and bustling. Noise level and lighting are very comfortable. Spacing between tables comfortable. We had clam chowder. Very good. Thick, so glad we got the cup rather than the bowl. I had salmon. Very good. My companions had scallops... More

I have gone to Doc's during my trips to Ocean City for years and am usually very pleased. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area (under an awning) that looks into the marina, so it is picturesque and perfect for boat-lovers! The bread they bring when you arrive is a delicious sea-salt/rosemary roll, and the seafood is delicious-- I've had... More

Main reason we went here was because they took reservations. We had reservations for over a week in advance for 7:30 Saturday night. We waited over 30 minutes for a table. If we felt like waiting, we would have went to "The Crab Trap" for much better food. My wife had roasted peppers for an appetizer which she said were... More

We ate here last summer and everything was great. We were only able to make it down to the shore for one day this summer and decided to eat here again for dinner. But apparently even in the dead of summer men must have sleeves. They offered my husband a shirt! I didn't realize that they're $5 plastic chairs required... More

We aregulars to Ocean City and recently has a nice dinner at Doc's. I started with a cosmo which was nicely chilled and garnished and made just right. The rolls with garlic oil and herbs were a little too dry for my tastes, but that was the only blemish. We shared a crabcake appetizer (the remoulade had some nice zing)... More

Went to Doc's Place to celebrate my birthday with a few friends. We had a great meal, nice wine and super service! Our table was in the corner of the porch out on the marina - it was beautiful. I would HIGHLY recommend Doc's Place for a nice dinner!

Doc's has been around forever. I grew up in this area and it is the perferred place for special occasions in a casual, waterfront setting. It is literally on the dock of the Bay, in Somers Point, just over the bridge from Ocean City, NJ. Great wine list, excellent seafood, steaks, and pasta. There's often live music in the evenings... My parents, who are 'high end' diners recommended Doc's to us a few years ago, and we come here all the time now. My husband and I spend the summer in Ocean City. We like coming to Doc's because of it's location, atmosphere, and food. It is right over the 9th street bridge in Somer's Point, so if you are... More

Seated at 4 points.#1 next to bar, #2 at doorway to the outside porch, #3 at the path to the kitchen, # 4 at the path into the dining room, so needless to say it was the worst seat in the house. We noticed servers practically running thru the restaurant, they would roll their eyes when their path was blocked... More

Started off with great Hendricks Martinis -- made to order!. Appetizer was calimari - a little too bready. Glad to see they left out the tentacles. Dinners were all delicious, especially the lump crabcake. Service was very good. Nice ambiance with a view of the marina.
