Description: Owned and operated by the Hieb family since 1987, The Doc’s Place offers inside and, seasonally permitted, alfresco dining in a luxury yacht basin - Harbour Cove Marina. We are open 11 months of the year (closed in January) and serve a traditional breakfast on Sundays and lunch and dinner daily (see www.thedocsplace.com for seasonal hours). Luncheons include jumbo lump crab meat Caesar salad – delicious; cheese steaks and Kobi burgers – the best around. Dinners embrace fresh fish; steaks and chops (our beef is competitive with any ‘steak’ house), shell fish - shrimp, clams and mussels; and accompaniments such as pomme de terre frits, cooked-to-order pasta and seasonal vegetables from New Jersey & the world! Our bar introduced this area to 7½ ounce martinis and Manhattans, poured to a meniscus! Our wine list is an oenophile’s delight. Our limited seating Thanksgiving Day dinner is legendary. Our private parties are spectacular. Try us, again!

Seated at 4 points.#1 next to bar, #2 at doorway to the outside porch, #3 at the path to the kitchen, # 4 at the path into the dining room, so needless to say it was the worst seat in the house. We noticed servers practically running thru the restaurant, they would roll their eyes when their path was blocked... More

Started off with great Hendricks Martinis -- made to order!. Appetizer was calimari - a little too bready. Glad to see they left out the tentacles. Dinners were all delicious, especially the lump crabcake. Service was very good. Nice ambiance with a view of the marina.

My husband and I went there for lunch with another couple. The dining room is intimate, not large, but there is a deck/porch with more tables. The inside tables were set nicely with tablecloths, actually a bit more formal than I expected for lunch. We all had different sandwiches and either a beer or wine each, and everyone was pleased... While looking for a nice restaurant in Ocean City, NJ. we stumbled upon Doc's Place. It's definitely a locals hangout that serves great food in a warm cosy atmosphere. Besides the food the drink selections were very creative and overflowing. You won't have to worry about getting a small pour of wine or a half filled martini. Spending Valentines evening... More

I am a local and have to be honest I have not eaten at Doc's for many years for no other reason then I just do not eat out much. My teenage daughter and I decided one night in August to go out to dinner and wanted to eat somewhere different and just happened upon Doc's. What a FANTASTIC meal!... More

Every summer we make it a point to have dinner at least 4 times at Docs (if not more) during our two week stay. The food is fabulous and the drinks are even better. Saw the previous reviewer complain about the overflowing drinks. It's the reason we go to Docs. I'm tired of paying $$ for a cocktail only to... More

We come to stay in OC every September. Docs is always on our list. Nice music, good service, great views, and good food. Skip the lines at the Crab Trap and come here. For those who write 10 paragraphs of bad reviews based on one experience and assume good reviews are only from relatives, get off your self righteous horse... More

The restaurant was trendy and fashionably nice. The seafood was above average. The problem was that we were there at "adult" hours and spent a lot of money, but the table next to us had a lot of kids who were not considerate of others and the parents were vocal at saying that we were bad for asking the children... Nice atmosphere, however the entrance area and small bar are very cramped and overcrowded on weekend night. Food was very good overall; excellent calamari, chicken wings ok.
