Owned and operated by the Hieb family since 1987, The Doc’s Place offers inside and, seasonally permitted, alfresco dining in a luxury yacht basin - Harbour Cove Marina. We are open 11 months of the year (closed in January) and serve a traditional breakfast on Sundays and lunch and dinner daily (see www.thedocsplace.com for seasonal hours). Luncheons include jumbo lump crab meat Caesar salad – delicious; cheese steaks and Kobi burgers – the best around. Dinners embrace fresh fish; steaks and chops (our beef is competitive with any ‘steak’ house), shell fish - shrimp, clams and mussels; and accompaniments such as pomme de terre frits, cooked-to-order pasta and seasonal vegetables from New Jersey & the world! Our bar introduced this area to 7½ ounce martinis and Manhattans, poured to a meniscus! Our wine list is an oenophile’s delight. Our limited seating Thanksgiving Day dinner is legendary. Our private parties are spectacular. Try us, again!

NIce Sunday Afternoon Lunch

We were out for a Sunday drive down at the Jersey Shore. While in Somers Point we decided to look for a place for lunch. We happened by The Doc's Place alongside the water behind the hospital. The name was a cute pun, there is the marina for boats and plenty of physicians too. We were served by... read more

My wife and I were in the area for a brief "Spring Break" and had dinner at Doc's Place. We did not know much about the restaurant but liked what we read so we took a chance. It was a most wonderful evening and a perfect choice for what we were looking for. Our table was ready on time. The... More

Even in winter, Doc's offers a charming and relaxing view along with thoughtfully-prepared food that shouts "Fresh at the Shore". Their seafood, especially the scallops and flounder, is always excellent. Doc's wait staff is low-key friendly and knowledgeable about the bar, wine and special offerings. Reservations strongly recommended, especially on spring, summer and fall weekends!

Have been here several times this summer. Am almost afraid to write this review as it will bring attention to Docs and it might become busier! In the summer, ask for a table outside overlooking the marina. Sitting at the bar is also excellent. Dave always takes care of us. Good Cabernet. The kitchen is always willing to mix and... More

We visited during "Restaurant Week" as we had always heard good things about Doc 's. We were seated promptly and had our drink orders taken and reviewed the (1) restaurant week menu for our party of four which we all ordered from. While one of us ordered the Spicey Shrimp appetizer the rest of our party had the Salad Wedge... More

We have been to Doc's many times. Our last visit was for lunch on a summer Tuesday afternoon. We did not have to wait, but within the next 30 minutes every table was filled. Although we did not anticipate a full house for lunch, the best thing is to make a reservation to be sure of a table. The food is always... More

We recently visited Doc's. I do have to say that my duck was very good and so was the seared Ahi tuna that my son was excellent,All of the Italian dishes were done with too much garlic.

Went here on a Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated right away upon arriving. The restaurant was busy and bustling. Noise level and lighting are very comfortable. Spacing between tables comfortable. We had clam chowder. Very good. Thick, so glad we got the cup rather than the bowl. I had salmon. Very good. My companions had scallops... More

I have gone to Doc's during my trips to Ocean City for years and am usually very pleased. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area (under an awning) that looks into the marina, so it is picturesque and perfect for boat-lovers! The bread they bring when you arrive is a delicious sea-salt/rosemary roll, and the seafood is delicious-- I've had... More
