Description: Old world charm meets new world hospitality in this lovely lakeside landmark. A longtime locals favorite serving award winning classic continental cuisine with a modern flair. The restaurant, resurrected from an uncertain future in 1997 by the combined efforts of the Coppola & Bushar families, has since reclaimed its spot among the favorite dining locations in the Atlantic City area.

The building itself is wonderful - set in the "town" of historic Smithville, great view of the lake and quaint shopping area. All rooms in this restaurant are charming and comfortable. Food and drink choices were diverse - there is something for everyone on the menu, from "comfort food" to gourmet quality! Service was very good, servers are generally very... More

Friends told us about the prime rib special for $20. Wow. about a 14oz slice, baked potato, green beans and a salad. and it was nice and medium rare. Salad and sides were good. Extensive wine list that is reasonably priced. Wines at Ruth's Chris that are $125 are marked at $85-95 here. split a baked apple desert that was... More

We were visiting from out of town for my God-Nieces wedding and decided to have brunch with my wife's aunt and my in-laws the next morning. Not too expensive and a large selection of fine foods along with the regulars you'd find in any buffet. Service was very attentive. And there's lots to see afterwards when you stroll around Smithville.

Visited here on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. There is a very good menu to choose from and the food is well cooked and presented. All the salad dressings are made at the restaurant and the blue cheese one I had was excellent. I had a very good steak and my wife and daughter both... More

In 18 months since I last reviewed this place it has slipped precipitously. It still has colonial charm and the portions are still large, but it is more and more like eating out in 1970. Graceless waitresses get the food to the table but act hopeless of ever getting a good tip, I guess because of the elderly clientele. To... More

Good food at a reasonable price, good quality, nice environment. Tuna steak and salmon were both good with portions large enough for left overs taken home. The drinks, wine by the glass and a Kir Royale were very reasonably priced. Because it was a Monday night the second entree was half-price. We didn't know that going in, but overheard another... This is a incredibly beautiful eatery staffed by cheerful professionals. My lunch started very well with corn chowder. I was more than a bit disappointed with my entree, a roast turkey dinner, which seriously tasted like a TV dinner of yore. It was palatable and did fill me up, but was tasteless and certainly not worth the price. I will... More

My wife and I had appys and wine at the Tavern , located on the side of the Smithville Inn. What a lovely place and ambiance. They menu from the Inn is shared along with a broad wine and beer list. We just love the feel of the place and how cozy it is. A true Tavern. This has become... More

My friend and I had visited a relative living in Galloway, spent the night in Absecon and then shopped the stores of this historic village. It was sort of a mini-vacation for us, so we decided on an extra special lunch before heading back to Philadelphia. Extra special and Smithville Inn go perfectly together! Once you enter this 1787 dining... More

The entrance to the Inn takes you back in time. Antique chairs circle around the front of the large fire place that must have cooked many meals for the guests in bygone days. It was delightfully decorated for Halloween. Everyone that entered couldn't help but smile when they saw the decorations. I went for lunch with a couple ladies from... More
