Consistently Good

For a delicious, delightfully comfortable and consistently good dining spot along the South Jersey coast, we really like the Smithville Inn. Had to send back both meals, lobster special was tough, dry. Waitress promptly took meals back, but received different new meals very slowly and were cold and just subpar. Terrible Saturday night outing. I should have stayed home and cooked, it would have been much better and cheaper!! Never again!!!! 😞

Had a great time with my sister. Many different shops. There were live animals around the property like chicken and roosters which was kinda cool. Not sure I would go back but we did have a nice time.

A little bit of historic nostalgia as you enter into the lobby with the fireplace adorned with flowers and the hostess, Kathy, was cordial and welcoming. The food was wonderful all three events that we ate there during the 4 days we were there and the waitstaff was great. Nick made us feel like we were home with his smile... More

The place as you walk in is historic and week maintained. The staff was very friendly and greated us immediately than brought us to our table. Our server was very good at what he does, very attentive and remembered everything. The food was very good and axll our meals were great tasting. A little pricey but it's ok for a... More

As soon as you enter the Inn, you smell the fireplace even in the summer. It gives you a cozy feeling. The Inn is beautifully decorated in all areas including the small banquet rooms. It takes you back to the Country Inn era. The main dinning room overlooks the lake. Lunches are moderately priced. Have not eaten dinner there. The... More

Had been here before, many years ago and it just was not the same. Forall the ZAGAT ratings, etc., I thought the food was just so-so. The hostess was a bit rude and brusque and they kept us waiting quite a while even though the dining room did not appear crowded, nor was it a prime dining time. I had... More

Stopped in while walking around Historic Smithville shopping. We didn't have reservations but that was no problem, we possibly waited 15 min for a table. The crowds did start coming in soon after we arrived. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the building itself. The staff was friendly & service was excellent. There were many food options set out on several... More
