Description: Old world charm meets new world hospitality in this lovely lakeside landmark. A longtime locals favorite serving award winning classic continental cuisine with a modern flair. The restaurant, resurrected from an uncertain future in 1997 by the combined efforts of the Coppola & Bushar families, has since reclaimed its spot among the favorite dining locations in the Atlantic City area.

My wife and I had appys and wine at the Tavern , located on the side of the Smithville Inn. What a lovely place and ambiance. They menu from the Inn is shared along with a broad wine and beer list. We just love the feel of the place and how cozy it is. A true Tavern. This has become... More

My friend and I had visited a relative living in Galloway, spent the night in Absecon and then shopped the stores of this historic village. It was sort of a mini-vacation for us, so we decided on an extra special lunch before heading back to Philadelphia. Extra special and Smithville Inn go perfectly together! Once you enter this 1787 dining... More

The entrance to the Inn takes you back in time. Antique chairs circle around the front of the large fire place that must have cooked many meals for the guests in bygone days. It was delightfully decorated for Halloween. Everyone that entered couldn't help but smile when they saw the decorations. I went for lunch with a couple ladies from... More

I'll start with kudos to Steph who made us the most spectacular drinks we've ever had (the French Pear was incredible!) The restaurant and bar are charming old England style. The food was perfect. The Pot Pie is enough for two and the most wonderful dish I've eaten at a restaurant in a long time. We were there off season,... More

Dinner at the Smithville Inn was by far the best place we ate in Galloway. The Friday night lobster special was superb, Steph the bartender was accommodating, offered his insights on favorites but not too much so. Everything about he Inn was perfection, from the food to the service to the ambience. Wish I lived closer!

Have always had a good meal at this establishment. Staff friendlly and courteous, food prepared as we like. Enjoyed their friday night lobster special and the place was packed, good to see! There was a piano player on Friday evening that was to be enjoyed while we were dining. Disappointed in the other patrons there at the same time as... More

After a long awaited return to this charming colonial inn , my hopes of "the experience" quickly faded . Perfection began & ended with the French pear martini. We were 4 for lunch, 2 chicken pot pies, 1 arrived beautifully baked & hot , the other under baked & cold in the Center, 1 tilapia minuscule in size, frozen and... More

Three of us had dinner here on a Friday night. The restaurant was busy and bustling. It has a nice ambience. The lighting and noise level is very comfortable. Spacing between tables is very adequate. Table tops are not cramped. As to the food, it is pretty good. I had the prime rib which was just huge. Too much for... More

I was last here a few years ago, and standards have not changed. Warm welcome, good table, very pleasant staff and a nice lunch. It was fairly busy...always a good sign!
