Before we frequented Mud City for take out, we would use Ship Bottom Shellfish. (Word has it they're owned by the same family.) The menus are quite similar, if not the same. Thinking it wouldn't be impossible to get a seat at Mud City because it is now off-season, we intended to go to Mud City to eat in for... More

Ample menu featuring lots of fish and seafood. The dishes are simply prepared, but that serves to highlight the taste of the fresh fish rather than it being hidden in exotic sauces. I've eaten there many times and have never been disappointed. Prices are reasonable and the service is friendly and pleasing. The atmosphere is very informal- what you would... More

The establishment is small so we did take-out. We opted to cook the food at home ourselves but the seafood was very fresh. My mother wanted soft-shell crabs (don't ask). But they offered to do the cleaning and you really should have them to the cleaning. I would have never thought of it if they hadn't asked. They parking lot... More

We tried getting in for dinner at 6 PM on a Saturday in September and learned it would be a 2 hour wait, so we headed back Sunday at 5 PM and got right in. We enjoyed the cheerful wait staff and a delicious appetizer of fresh mussels. My husband had the halibut with a macadamia crust for his main... More

Arriving ahead of our hosts on Long Beach Island, we found this spot for lunch. We had wonderful soft shell crab and oyster po-boy sandwiches. Very fresh ingredients. Friendly service. It is a fish market too. The restaurant section has only 15 tables. In season, we understand there is always a wait, but on this September Friday, there was no... More

This tiny restaurant serves great food and the crab cakes and some of the best around. Service is quick and servers are attentive to needs.

Scallops - sweet as candy. Crab cakes - full of crab, little filler. Mussels - like butter. Consistent, fresh and flavorful take out. Fried items are never greasy.

Nothing fancy but the food is terrific. About 15 tables/booths with nautical motif. Attached to seafood market. Even for weekday lunch we waited 30 minutes.....but worth the wait! Had local sea scallops with two sides at market price $27.99. Got cole slaw and onion rings (3). Kinda wish I had selected fries after seeing chunky fries with skin on. Next... More

The clams in wine and garlic were outrageously good. The fish is fresh and well-prepared. We waited almost an hour but the clams made it worth the wait.
