We would go back......

As described previously, this appears to be a local watering hole. We stopped in for lunch - tried the roast beef sandwich and a chicken Italiano. Both sandwiches were satisfactory as well as the service. The colorado fries that some people claimed to be so good was not a hit with us. Overall, the... read more

I've been to the porthole twice on rainy days. It needs a face lift/make over. The roast beef sandwiches were okay, nothing great. So I was disappointed because I was told that there RB was great and I wasn't impressed. A lot of comfort food on the menu, lots of fried food they should add some healthy dishes.

Great place for a casual lunch - they have tasty sandwiches and unassuming atmosphere. Seems to be a place frequented by steady customer base. The service is quick. Would go back.

Stopped here late sunday afternoon and watched the football games while at the bar. Everyone was so friendly (mostly locals) and of course the roast beef sandwich was the best ever.

This is a local place that has been here for a long, long time. It's a bar, that happens to have very good bar food. Leo's roast beef sandwich is legendary (don't forget the horseradish) . The Colorado fries are tasty as is the grilled turkey and provolone. All the food is pretty good for that matter. They have the... More

Great location, easy to walk to, and friendly staff are the positives. Boring beer choices (unless Bud Light is your thing), bad food, and cash-only are the major negatives. Decor needs improvement too. Eighteen people there at 10 p.m. on a nice Saturday night should tell the ownership that they could be doing better.

It's been on the island for a long time and I've been going there for more than 40 years (ouch!) and their famous roast beef sandwiches haven't changed one bit. I've only stopped in for the sandwich, maybe some great onion rings and an ice cold beer but it's a great experience every time. It's a neighborhood bar with their... More

The best "bar food" on Long Beach Island. You will never be disappointed with their FAMOUS roast beef sandwich, be sure to add the Colorado fries basket as well. They are big enough to share with friends. (Ask for melted cheese along with the ranch) The atmosphere here alone makes this spot a great experience. They have the same bartenders... More

The Roast Beef Sandwich was GREAT ! but at 9 dollars ,no chips, fries or even a pickle lets get REAL. NOT worth 9 dollars without some kind of side, even if they threw you a bag of 50 cent chips might change my mind ??? mabye??? the owners should wake up this is not worth 9 dollars without a side...
