Now the home of Surf Taco. Captain John retired I think and is probably very happy. Surf Taco is a chain. Decent but not great. Not expensive. Good access and parking. Limited menu.

A local stop and excellent for breakfast. Nothing fancy, just good food and excellent service. Fast turn-a-round time from order to piping hot food delivered. Excellent coffee!

Captain John's was one of my favorite breakfast places on the island. A very nondescript atmosphere, the food was excellent. The fluffiest pancakes with the freshest, plumpest blueberries. My husband loved their omelets. The service was great. What happened? Why did they close?

i have been going to LBI for about 15 years and never ate here. None of my friends ever said anything about it but we were having a problem finding a place open one day and stopped here for breakfast. Nothing super special but just good quality Jersey diner food. We had omelets and pancakes and i would go back... More

This is a very plain, nothing special diner. I went in around 11am on a Saturday and there were a handful of groups on a list ahead of me ...the hostess seemed a little unorganized but it didn't take long to get a table. The waitress was very nice and worked very hard to cover a lot of tables. The... More

Great place on Long Beach Island for Breakfast or Lunch. Serving sizes are ample and service is great. There may be a wait for a table on a busy Sunday morning but it is worth it. This is a family owned business and the family is hands on daily. The prices are reasonable. Enjoy!

Place seems to never change. Great breakfasts for good prices, very old fashioned interior - right across the street from the beach.

Captain John's (Mister Breakfast) is a nice little "diner" type restaurant. We always have breakfast there a couple of times during our 2 week stays on LBI every summer. Great omeletts, waffles and french toast, and they serve lunch as well. Nothing fancy, but it's good food at a good price with friendly service.
