Don't let the title fool you, I'd love to come here with my wife alone, but I put together a business dinner at Bareli's, and boy am I glad I did. I booked for a party of 9 (there ended up being 10 of us). They put us in a lovely private room without being asked. Nice touch. The quiet... More

I highly recommend Bareli's! Yes, a traditional Italian restaurant in northern New Jersey doesn't always mean great food or service, but that's exactly what we had. Ian, the manager greeted us and showed us to our table, and Carlos, our waiter took exceptional good care of us. Three of us had the grilled swordfish that amazed each with flavor. Simply... More

Although about a 5 minute drive away from my office, we had avoided the "old" Bareli's like the plague because it was just that ... OLD! and a little sad and depressing. The food was just OK at prices that a good NYC restaurant would charge. When I saw the doors shut down last year, I thought Bareli's was a... More

Had a business dinner for 10 on a Saturday night. From the minute we walked in until we left they were amazing! Such excellent service and efficiency. The food was outstanding! There was actually LUMP CRAB MEAT in the crab cakes! Portions are a bit small but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will most definitely be going back again!... More

We have been to the "old" Bareli's many times and always enjoyed their food/service. The renovations resulted in a bigger bar, modern decor, and no piano. The menu has changed although I was told some old classics are returning (good idea). We sat by the fireplace, a wonderful spot in a more private area of the restaurant. Service was on... More

I enjoyed my visit to the restaurant. It was classic old school and the kind of place I imagined Frank Sinatra walking through the door. I tried a salad and a seafood specialty. Both were beautifully presented and delicious. I wanted to try a local restaurant not one of the many chain restaurants near my hotel. I was surprised that... More

The wine list was quite extensive with many French, Italian and California wines represented. I could not find a Malbec on the list, though. Two colleagues and I had dinner on Sept 26. We started out with the salads an fresh breads. For main course, I had the black linguine fra diavola while my colleagues had Collosal shrimp over Cavatelli,... More

Very polite staff. Excellent drinks. Nice decor on the inside. Located on main highway and easy to find. The food was mostly average - good. The only thing I did not enjoy at all was the home made ravioli. The were tasteless but the sauce was good. Chicken dishes were well prepared and tasty. Great place to lounge and have... More

We made a reservation for four through Open Table. There was no mention of any dress code. We were wearing Bermuda Shorts and would have liked to have have dined there but we were turned away at the door, quote: "we have a no shorts policy". Our reservation was for 7:00P and there was one other car in the valet... More

The valet parking only thing is a bit strange; Not the same run of the mill Italian you see in so many other places. Wonderful tastes, and very nicely presented. Since this is a fancier setting, be prepared to pay more on cocktails then most places, but the food is worth it. Do not over do it on the warm... More
