Nice private spaces for people to have dinner. The food was very good and priced accordingly. We had a great time even after the lights went out due to a car crash down the road. It took out the electric pole servicing the street. Very romantic candle lighted dinner.

We just had a wonderful dinner there. Our server, Rob, was fantastic. He was ever-present but not hovering. First server in my life to ask before he brought the check. I know ordering a house salad is boring, but this one was just perfect, fresh lettuce, and properly dressed ( I like to taste the veggies as well as the... More

Made a reservation a week in advance for one of their coveted alcove tables only to be seated right next to the front door! I may have well ate in the parking lot. With the prices they charge they should forgo seating people right next to the door. It's very tacky. Makes you feel like you never even enter the... More

Beautiful place, we were seated immediately in a alcove table & had a nice view. Our server Dan was very prompt . Must try the spanakopita , very good. Filet mignon was very tender. Shrimp Athenia was good. Portions good size Mike (owner) gave us a tour & told us the history of the restaurant. I was surprised w/ a... More

My wife wanted to eat here when she read it is supposed to be very romantic. Evidently, the “romantic” seating is at the tables on the staircase. I don’t get it. They’re right by the front door and everyone has to pass by to get to and leave from the other tables. So, they’re not private in any sense. We... More

We have lived at the shore, mostly Spring Lake & Sea Girt for more than 30 years, and have had many great dinners (and lunches) within a 30 mile radius of here, but still, the absolute best is Scarborough Fair. (we've been patrons since the early 80's) The atmosphere is so welcoming, both summer & winter, Service is always exceptional... More

For my bday dinner, my fiancée took me here and requested one of the private dining alcoves. He had told them when making the reservation that it was my birthday and they decorated our table when we arrived. Our waiter was wonderful - very knowledgeable and friendly. I ordered the couples martini, the Brie appetizer and the duck for dinner.... More

My wife and I spent the weekend on the Jersey Shore to celebrate our 17th anniversary, and discovered the remarkable Scarborough Fair in Sea Girt. This is a hideaway of a romantic gem, which works hard to create the right ambiance and succeeds. The lay-out and decor of the restaurant could almost be Alpine chalet, and if this is the... More

In a recent discussion of restaurants visitors to the shore must try Scarborough Fair was at the top of my list. Built from and old house the design and decor is a little quirky and full of character, suitable for both casual and formal dining. There is a small bar, but is does not feature prominently and is really located... More
