La Pastaria is always a great choice when we are heading down the shore area. Have dined many times and we were always satisfied with our meals. We recently drove down on a Saturday night and did not have to wait for a table (arrived around 6:30 p.m.) My husband ordered the special chicken with eggplant and I ordered chicken... More

I have been here several times with several different people. This past time I went with coworkers before a show at Count Basie. We shared a special appetizer, which was delicious. I must say I was a little disappointed in their choice of specials for the evening, in previous visits their specials were much better. The atmoshere is enjoyable not... More

I have eaten here many times and have liked my selections but during the summer months it is particularly enjoyable eating outside in front or under the leafy arbor. The atmosphere is informal and the service can be a bit relaxed but if you bring a good bottle of wine you can experience a more leisurely dining experience.

Nice Italian with something for everyone. The appetizer of zucchini stuffed with risotto was fantastic, made special with the addition of a fennel sausage. My grouper entree was delicious as was my friend's shrimp entree: fresh tasty seafood. The menu is extensive, you'll have a tough time choosing. Excellent service. Since they don't have a liquor license, this is BYOB... More

The food at La Pastaria is very good, but the service is less than to be desired. There were 4 of us that ate there, and the two of us will never return. We asked for a different sauce on a higher-priced ($22.95) dish, and they told us that there would be a $2.00 upcharge. For that alone, we will... More

One of the things I look for in any restaurant is consistency. Over the last 5 years, I have returned to La Pasteria in Red Bank probably 60 times. with my wife, family, friends, parties and business associates. La pasteria never disappoints. All of the staff over the years have served me well. I wont name any, because they were... More

We brought a Friend for her Birthday and she loved, loved the food! Whew, always on the leery side when you've never dined there before. But, we where not disappointed :) Seating spot was a little cold, as the air was right on us, so just in case bring a sweater. There is seating outside for 2-3 people. Small place... More

We had been looking for an Italian restaurant that offered not just typical dishes, but unique specials as well, and it should be BYOB. We found this place through a referral and it was excellent. The atmosphere is casual Italian, nicely decorated, and not huge it gaudy. Our server was very well informed, and was easily able to describe how each... More

I can see why this place has such mixed reviews. I loved the appetizers and desserts, but hated the entrees. We tried several specials to start: the malfatti were excellent, fresh balls of spinach and ricotta cheese; and there was a sausage meatball that was very tasty. I also tried the fried mozzarella which I liked. For dessert I loved... More
