When I think of home, Espo's is one f my best food memories

You enter a relatively small restaurant with a long bar to the right. Somehow, you are immediately welcomed by the bar staff and waiting for your chance to eat great Italian home style cooking. The bar staff remembers who came when and you are lead to your table just in the right order. - and... read more

Very good, simple, cheaper fare in a quaint downtown suburban setting...brings a bit of authentic new York City Italian Charm to raritan, nj

This is as basic as it gets. A neighborhood bar and restaurant on a back street which makes an excellent red sauce. Yeah, the linguine and white clam is good, as well but this is basic southern Italian food made well with no pretensions. BTW, the bread from a local bakery that comes with the meal is as good as... Excellent meal at this nice family restaurant. This restaurant is right in the middle of a residential neighborhood, not a place you would expect to find a gem of an Italian eatery. Recommend you get there early as the place will fill up quickly. One drawback is there is only street parking and since this is in a residential area,... More

My neighbor recommended. Went here on double date. The portions are GIGANTIC. 3 of the 4 took food home. Bread and salad came with meal. Will definitely return.

After taking a 25 year hiatus from Espo's - mostly because I couldn't find it - I went back. It was a like a time warp. Nothing had changed. The same bar complete with Budweiser lighting. Remember the horse drawn Bud truck inside the big glass chandelier? It's here, along with the dim lights and dark walls. The same delicious... More

When I found Espo's restaurant it was a pleasant surprise. Someone at work had recommended it so I gave it a try. That was ten years ago and I've been back quite a few times since. When I first tried it it immediately reminded me of a restaurant we used to go to in Whitestone, New York when I lived... More

By far some of the best iItalian food you'll find. The restaurant looks like a house on a residential street. Go inside and it reminds you of an old joint from little Italy. Dark, tight but smells great!.. Order off the chalk boards. Menu does not change. As a matter of fact... neither does the staff! Same crew has been... More

Traditional Italian "red sauce" food served in this cozy place. It is very reminiscent of 1970s ITALIAN food. Service was good. A friend and I went. We both had veal parmigiana which was very good. Five drinks and an antipasto. Bill wad $89. Well worth it!
