Now That's A Spicy Meat-a-ball-a

After taking a 25 year hiatus from Espo's - mostly because I couldn't find it - I went back. It was a like a time warp. Nothing had changed. The same bar complete with Budweiser lighting. Remember the horse drawn Bud truck inside the big glass chandelier? It's here, along with the dim lights... read more

When I found Espo's restaurant it was a pleasant surprise. Someone at work had recommended it so I gave it a try. That was ten years ago and I've been back quite a few times since. When I first tried it it immediately reminded me of a restaurant we used to go to in Whitestone, New York when I lived... More

By far some of the best iItalian food you'll find. The restaurant looks like a house on a residential street. Go inside and it reminds you of an old joint from little Italy. Dark, tight but smells great!.. Order off the chalk boards. Menu does not change. As a matter of fact... neither does the staff! Same crew has been... More

Traditional Italian "red sauce" food served in this cozy place. It is very reminiscent of 1970s ITALIAN food. Service was good. A friend and I went. We both had veal parmigiana which was very good. Five drinks and an antipasto. Bill wad $89. Well worth it!

Even though we really enjoyed our meals and our lively chats with the two bartenders / waiters throughout the evening, in all fairness I couldn't rate this restaurant any higher than "good" solely in light of the competition in the general area (5-10 mile radius). We visited for the first time on a Monday night around 9pm and had a... More

Great spot for very good food, great service and no frills atmosphere. Nothing fancy about this place, it's basically a tavern, with chalk boards as menus. We had a variety of dishes including meatballs, steak parm and the penne vodka was great and it lasted for 2 additional take home meals. They now accept cards.

I note that most of the reviews are from New Jersey residents who may not be familiar with Dominicks in the Bronx. Dominicks has been famous for decades. They don;t have a printed menu but do have a chalk board near the kitchen which I believe is for the waiters. The waiters ask what kind of dish you would like,... More

This is a perfect place for relaxing while eating a home cooked Italian meal. We eat here often so I gave tried many items on the blackboard menu. Everything tastes great! Dress down and just let the busy day go by.

We sought out Espo's on a recommendation since our favorite go to spot was closed on Monday's. Don't let the quiet unassuming exterior on a residential block stop you from entering. Warm and inviting inside, no menus just blackboards and good old fashioned Italian American fare. We tried the veal Parm and it was excellent. The waiter offered several pasta... More

Came here for a family celebration over the summer. The place is fairly cramped so a table of 7 adults, 1 kid and a baby was tight. I would describe the service as sufficient but not attentive. The food comes in ample portions with leftovers that will take you through at least another meal. The food is very good but... More
