Best food I have had in years

Excellent food. This is a real restaurant with high quality food and wine. If you are looking to stuff your face with pounds of pasta, this is not a place you should go. I highly recommend the seafood. However, the prices are expensive. You will probably pay over $50 per person. Also, the ambiance... read more

I've tried this place three times, most recently about a year ago. I decided to give it one more shot. I won't waste anyone's time by giving every detail, but suffice it to say the service was poor, the interior continues to be plastic flowers and worn floors, and the food tasted like warm, reheated leftovers. I'm suspicious of the... More

I usually do not respond to reviews because I respect the opinion of anyone that visits my restaurant. My staff and I discuss and try to learn from every comment and review we receive, especially the negative ones. For your review I make an exception and ask: Why go to a restaurant that you hate so much, THREE TIMES? The... More

We went out for pizza but place had a 45 minutes wait. So we thought to try Gennaro,s on Rt 206. We went in and were greeted in Italian by the waiter who started out friendly. Sat us and we ordered entrees. He seemed a little annoyed when we didn't order appetizers. We had chicken parmigiana, veal parmigiana, and pappardelle... More

My thoughts are on trip advisor most people don't know what to expect when it comes to fine dining, or true Italian cuisine Was in town for big youth softball tournament. Used TA to find a restaurant other than the multitude of cheap corporate chains. Most people think Olive Garden is good Italian food. Therein lies the problem. We were... More

Friendly staff and nice décor. But I felt the food was not up to par with the prices they were charging for it. Just average nothing special food that they charged a lot for. You didn't even get a lot to justify the price, small portions. Everyone I was with felt the same about their meal. I would not go... More

We were 3 couples at Gennaro's on a Saturday night. It was busy and more noisy than I prefer but that's what you get in most restaurants on the weekend. For appetizers we had salads, calamari and mussels. All were well prepared. The entrees were veal chop, ravioli, eggplant fiorentina, gamberetti ginita and veal Courvoisier. All but one dish was... We have known this restaurant since it's infancy in Hillsborough and have never been disappointed with a meal. I am appalled at a review I read by some hot shot bashing Gennaros. First of alI, I don't care how many restaurants he has reviewed, he got this one all wrong. I am Italian and have traveled to Italy many times.... More

Trip Advisor is usually good about keeping paid reviews or reviews placed by the owner off the site, but Gennaro's clearly has gamed the system. Read the one- and two-star reviews here for genuine perspective, and notice when you drive by how few people eat there, except during reunions and other times when other restaurants are full. The positive reviews... More

We have dined at Gennaro's several times over the years. The prices seems to have gone up and up, whilst the quality of the cooking has not kept pace. We dined there this past week, and first of all, the noise level was so impossibly high that we could not even have a decent conversation with the person sitting next... More

Close to the Garden of Sculptures. Pleasant staff as well as atmosphere. Wide variety of Italian Cuisine and sandwiches. Since we were there for lunch I chose off the sandwich menu and was not disappointed.
