We found out about Tortuga's from our son's friend, who grew up in the area. You'd be hard pressed to find it if you aren't looking for it, but it's worth the short trip from the Princeton University area. My wife doesn't even look at the menu anymore, it's always going to be Carne Asada. She always has enough to... More

Resturant smells and very conjusted. Bad attitude by waiters. Waiter tried to snick in $30 into the bill hoping I want realise.Gratiuity is already added to the bill so waiters dont care about service. I would not recommend or go there again.

Came early on a Sunday . There is a very small parking lot with just a few spots next to the place . It is located on a one way street near the old hospital . The chips and Salsa were good and my steak fajita was GREAT. Everyone had a good time . Make sure to bring cash as... More

Tortuga's is in a residential block of Princeton down some side streets. It offers true mexican food. It is a cash only/ byob place. Tortuga's is a great place to go for a simple family Mexican food dinner. I find Tortuga's to be clean, friendly, and reasonable. I am a repeat customer. If you are looking for a casual tasty... This was my first visit since they moved to this location and I was disappointed. The exterior door opens into the dining room which was annoying on a cold winter night. The food was just OK. If you need a reasonably priced BYOB in Princeton to hang out with friends, go with realistic expectations.

Our first and LAST time. Both the food the service sucked. The burritos were not even warm, soggy and surrounded by a cup of watery sauce without any taste. When I complained I was told "that's the way it comes". Asked for hot sauce and sour cream - never came. Check - $ 70.00 dollars without a receipt - not... More

I would rate this a 5 because it is one of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten in my life. It tasted home made, healthy and very fresh. I like the environment of the restaurant - it is very unique. The portions are really big and the food comes out on time. It's also BYOB which is nice. It's... More

I have been going to Tortuga's Mexican Village for well over 20 years and it is one of my favorite places. The food is very fresh and well prepared, it is a comfortable place to eat and everyone there is extremely friendly. I highly recommend the carne asada and the pollo mole is the best mole I have had anywhere.... More

This is our second attempt to this place. First time we could not go because they don't take credit cards. So we returned again... What a mistake. My friends had a combo dish, choice of 2-3 burito, taco etc. 2 for ~$17. Tiny portions. I ordered a cheese quesadilla. I literally got a flat crepe-looking tortilla with spreaded melted cheese.... Been there with friends and family many times. Always a delight, prices are good, food is great and their new location across the street is nice and comfortable! Service is always prompt and friendly, it does sometimes get crowded and noisy!
