Always busy; always good food

We are 6+ years repeat customers to this restaurant. We always find it very busy and loud. That is the result of drawing a large crowd by serving good food. Tables are tight. We made reservation to be sure we got a table. Our waitress was a kind gem. She helpfully guided us through the menu and... read more

The food was perfect when we ordered a salmon and a pasta, as well as the dessert. It is a bit expensive in the area, but it's worth it IMO and the dining environment is very nice.

The food here is very good, with a lot of local and gourmet choice, as well as a tapas menu during early evening hours. I have never been disappointed with the food. The location is great--right in the heart of downtown Princeton, with a beautiful fountain outside. The reasons it doesn't get 5 out of 5 are that it is... More

After many many years, this is still one of the best restaurants in the area. Fresh, classic Italian dishes. Professional service, elegant ambiance, and you can actually hear each other talking. Nice wine list.

My meal at the bar started with a good Sonoma Chardonnay. My Caesar salad was heavy on the lemon and light on the anchovy. The brioche croutons were not very crisp. My entree is why I have is 4 stars. I ordered the Mezze Rigatoni Bolognese with a lemon herb ricotta. Delicious. Good portion size. I enjoyed eating at the... More

I took my wife to a Mother's Day brunch today, and had the special experience I rarely associate with Princeton, and had not previously associated with Mediterra. She had a frigate and gazpacho with a trio of Bent Spoon ice creams, and I had a Moroccan tianjin, followed by a vegan stew, with a raspberry compote for dessert. All were... More

Vin and Mrs Merlot were accompanied by Countess Karenza for a drink at Mediterra whilst waiting for the Countess's driver to collect us to take us back to the Countess's estate. We asked if we could sit outside and the maître d' said if we wanted happy hour drinks at $US 7 and tapas at $US2 a plate we had... More

A great bustling vibrant restaurant with a great menu. I really enjoyed my visit to Mediterra during a recent business trip to Princeton. As group we started our meal with a selection fo sharing dishes - excellent octopus !! and followed with a super delicious pork chop and a silky smooth pannacotta to finish. Excellent service combined with excellent food... More

The service at Mediterra is excellent. Unfortunately, the acoustics in the restaurant are absolutely terrible, making it impossible to converse without yelling even with the person sitting right across from you. The food is unfortunately variable. I had a seafood paella which was so salty, I couldn't eat it. Fortunately, the appetizers, salad and dessert were better.

We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor. Lots of great restaurants in Princeton, and I'm glad we got to try this one first. If you are going for dinner, I strongly encourage making a reservation ahead of time. We didn't have one...but luckily, the manager was able to get us a table outside, advising that it could be 15-20 minutes. As... More
