I will start by saying that my husband and I visit the Peacock Inn restaurant several times a year, and it is one of my two or three favorite restaurants in the Princeton area. We usually get the 5 course tasting menu with the grand wine pairings, which are excellent. The service is usually quite good - however on our... More

On a snowy night we received a warm greeting and valet parking. Bar looked inviting but we went directly into the dining room (yes we made a reservation). Wine list is extensive and a generous pour for $15.00 for most single glasses. Bread and water refilled often. While there is a separate tasting menu paired with wine we chose a... More

We had a group of 6 people for a business dinner. We had a round table in a corner. It was ideal for including everyone in conversation. The food was incredible. I enjoyed the salmon en croute. The wine list was nice. The service was top notch. Valet parking was a bonus in Princeton. We will return to this lovely... More

Having spent most of my young life roaming the kitchens of Lutece, Le Cirque, etc, I recognize fine dining talent. The kitchen at the Peacock Inn has incredible aspirations and it shows---the food is well done. The service is too green, too many runners in a room and not enough panache to match the food. For example: There were four... More

Valet parking. Restaurant rooms are noisy despite having good space between tables. Is that the restaurant needs acoustic engineering or that Americans are generally loud? I personally find many US restaurants much too noisy for my taste. Service polite, a little distant, tries to be high class but fails to reach high level of quality I expect from this type... More

The Peacock Inn reopened a few years ago in a renovated older building. The atmosphere is pleasant, subdued. Our dinner companions and we argued whether the color scheme was purple or "aubergine" but either one gives you the idea. The food is excellent, as is the service. Wine list is good but on the expensive side for what is offered.... More

Wonderful cocktail bar with Thursday night drink specials. (I think Thursday night is the special prices night.) Uncommonly creative bartender. This place has cycled through several owners the past twenty years and has had issues in the past, but current owners seem to have gotten things right...

We've eaten at the Peacock Inn a few times. We always eat in the bar area, in one of the cozy booths or at the bar. The service is always efficient and attentive. The food is always very, very good. Last night, we ate here for my husband's birthday. We started off with the beet salad with goat cheese, pears,... More
