Food is great. Everything else is ok.

Every time I want a seafood restaurant that is B.Y.O.B. I pick Captain Ed's. The food is great. My friends and I love the buffalo shrimp, crab dip, clams casino and the lobster bisque. I use to get the steak and crab legs. However, the last few visits the steak wasn't that great so my last visit I... read more

Very good, friendly dinning experience. A good place for a informal quiet dinner. This was mid week, before the summer crowds. Since it is small, it could get very busy on a summer weekend.

. In 2003, on our anniversary, my husband and I stayed in a B & B in Spring Lake. We asked the "locals" where to get a good steak and were sent to Captain Ed's. We experienced our first ":steak on a stone", and it was perfect. Since then we have purchased a vacation home in Ortley and have visited... More

Been here tons of times during the summer. This time, we visited in December a few days after Christmas. We arrived at about 4:45 for an early dinner. We were the only ones there. Two waitresses served us. Since we had two small kids, we sat right next to one of the big fish tanks. The kids enjoyed that. The... More

The wait staff was so confused they totally forgot about us. 25 minutes to get 2 ice teas. Then again we were forgotten about. I dropped $4.00 on the table and walked out. The staff looked so confused the 2 women were arguing about who was going to do what. The younger one was bussing tables while ignoring us and... More

Neighbors of ours treated us to dinner here one night and totally enjoyed every bite. My wife ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the Blackened Swordfish. My wife said it one of the best cooked and tenderest of any filet she had ever eaten. The swordfish was excellent. Strongly recommend anyone visiting the Point Pleasant area in Jersey to... More

We arrived at around 8:00, the restaurant wasn't even half full. Three other tables were seated after us. We ordered and got our salads and appetizers in a timely manner, and were told our entres would be out shortly. We sat and waited, and waited and waited. The other tables that arrived after us got their food and yet we... More
