Description: Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant...
Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant just like you see in Brooklyn, with a quaint interior featuring oversized comfy booths and Italian music to complete the ambiance. The restaurant gets bustling after 6pm, and on weekends there can be quite a wait. The good news is they're open 7 days a week, so you can get the same amazing food on Tuesday without a wait. Speaking of the food, its authentic old world Italian prepared by Chef Joseph Spano. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen...fresh local fish and seafood, the highest quality veal, cut and pounded daily for the Veal dishes, Same with the chicken and eggplant, all prepared fresh daily. Spano's marinara sauce is the original winner of the Boss of the sauce contest sponsored by a local radio station and featuring all of the Shores Italian restaurants, as voted by a panel of judges and the general public. All of our ravioli, cheese filled, lobster, and specialty (like roasted butternut squash, or Osso Bucco) are handmade. They make the dough, they make the filling, and they stuff and cut each ravioli by hand. The portions are oversized, and the prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive menu and use only Certified Angus Beef, many of the dishes can be seen on their Facebook page at spanosristoranteitaliano and they open daily at 4pm. 7 days a week. With homemade desserts like the NY cheesecake, tiramisu, bread pudding and apizza dolce (Italian ricotta cheesecake) and delicious Cappuccino to finish off your meal, you can't go wrong at Spano's!

My husband and I have been going to Spano's for years. When it is too busy, we take the food out. The food is basically Italian but with a seaside twist. Food and service are always outstanding. What more can you want! I highly recommend it!!!

The food here is delicious, fresh and well-prepared and the portions are quite large-enough to share. The wait could be more than an hour.

I love Italian food, and I found Spano's a couple of years ago. I go there on a regular basis. The food is fantastic and the staff is friendly and helpful. They're knowledgeable about the menu and will recommend dishes if you want. Most of the dinners come with a side salad or soup, and a side of pasta. Chicken... More

Although there is often a wait to sit, it is well worth it. The quality and freshness of food is superior. Food is always served piping hot. Salad or soup with each entree, bruschetta free and it's a BYOB, so overall cost is minimized. My favorite is Penne Vodka, made with peas and prosciutto. Best anywhere. Hostess Anne Marie always... Spano's is my favorite restaurant. My husband and I moved here 12 years ago and we were looking for a place to have a relaxing dinner. As each course arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of food. The waitstaff is very engaging and eager to please. Since our first visit we have returned here once a week... More

Good quality food, large portions and good service add to the value of this good Italian meal. Waitress made good recommendations and the soup or salad included made this a good value. Everyone was happy with their choices from Lobster Ravioli to Chicken Zia Carmela...

We arrived at 6:00 p.m. a party of 4 on Thursday. Sat immediately as the restaurant wasn't crowded. A server arrived immediately and we got the water and bread within seconds. Our waiter, never gave us this name and he seems not too interested in anything and he didn't look busy either. We ordered appetizers, fried calamari and rice balls... More

Can be good if you stick to the basics, don't venture into the more complex dishes, as the execution isn't there. This place used to be better when Joe was always there. The past few times we were there chef Joe wasn't. Perhaps that's why it's not as good as it used to be. Will go again if hungry really... More
