Description: Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant just like you see in Brooklyn, with a quaint interior featuring oversized comfy booths and Italian music to complete the ambiance. The restaurant gets bustling after 6pm, and on weekends there can be quite a wait. The good news is they're open 7 days a week, so you can get the same amazing food on Tuesday without a wait. Speaking of the food, its authentic old world Italian prepared by Chef Joseph Spano. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen...fresh local fish and seafood, the highest quality veal, cut and pounded daily for the Veal dishes, Same with the chicken and eggplant, all prepared fresh daily. Spano's marinara sauce is the original winner of the Boss of the sauce contest sponsored by a local radio station and featuring all of the Shores Italian restaurants, as voted by a panel of judges and the general public. All of our ravioli, cheese filled, lobster, and specialty (like roasted butternut squash, or Osso Bucco) are handmade. They make the dough, they make the filling, and they stuff and cut each ravioli by hand. The portions are oversized, and the prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive menu and use only Certified Angus Beef, many of the dishes can be seen on their Facebook page at spanosristoranteitaliano and they open daily at 4pm. 7 days a week. With homemade desserts like the NY cheesecake, tiramisu, bread pudding and apizza dolce (Italian ricotta cheesecake) and delicious Cappuccino to finish off your meal, you can't go wrong at Spano's!

We have dined here at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed except by the long wait. Tables of 7 or more can make a reservation but even then if the previous diners are taking their time you may have to wait. The best dish is their Chicken Parm but you can't go wrong with anything on their... More

Was there the other night for a business dinner. As always the food and service was excellent. Had the Shrimp Molly as an app and the Veal Parm for dinner. Veal was so soft almost did not even have to chew. Would come eat there 7 days a week if it was not an hour drive each way. Only thing... More

The food was so so and I felt very rushed by our server. They seem to want to turn tables quicker than you can eat your dinner. The hostess is constantly looking to see what stage you are in at the table. All restaurants have to keep an eye out for their next guests but they should do it on... More

We (party of 4) arrived at approx. 6:30pm on a cold Saturday night. We were told it would be a 1 hr wait, which proved to be true. At first we waited outside as the small waiting area inside was VERY crowded, but after a short time we headed in so as not to freeze to death. We were later... More

Spano's serves wonderful Italian food if you're willing to wait for a table. We visited on a Saturday evening and had to wait about 40 minutes for a table for two. The food made the wait worth it. The service was quite good as well. It's a very noisy place due to all the hard surfaces and the large number of... More

We've eaten here several times over the last two years and loved it, but this last time -- a Tuesday evening -- we were disappointed. The caesar salad was watery, as though it hadn't been dried after being washed. The spiedini alla romana, which seems to be made differently each time, was tasty but not really done to traditional spec... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I think their sauce is the best!!! Big menu with great variety. Shrimp Parmesan is my favorite. Also it is a BYOB.

Our wonderful neighbors down the street have been recommending this restaurant for a long time. We were finally down there on an offseason Monday looking for a place to eat. We bought a couple of wines to bring and were not disapointted. The restaurant is a store front with limited seating. The decor is nice and comfortable. We were there... More

Decent Italian food but not worth the hour+ wait every single time. The restaurant is very noisy and the seating is very tight- we felt like we were dining with the people next to us since seating was so close together. Not worth the price or wait.

Ate here and the food was good and massive portions. Clams Oreganato were fantastic. Garlic shrimp was huge and decent. Veal marsala was good. I would stick with the marinara. It was very good. The alfredo was decent. More than enough food for anyone....I will definitely go back.
