Description: Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant...
Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant just like you see in Brooklyn, with a quaint interior featuring oversized comfy booths and Italian music to complete the ambiance. The restaurant gets bustling after 6pm, and on weekends there can be quite a wait. The good news is they're open 7 days a week, so you can get the same amazing food on Tuesday without a wait. Speaking of the food, its authentic old world Italian prepared by Chef Joseph Spano. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen...fresh local fish and seafood, the highest quality veal, cut and pounded daily for the Veal dishes, Same with the chicken and eggplant, all prepared fresh daily. Spano's marinara sauce is the original winner of the Boss of the sauce contest sponsored by a local radio station and featuring all of the Shores Italian restaurants, as voted by a panel of judges and the general public. All of our ravioli, cheese filled, lobster, and specialty (like roasted butternut squash, or Osso Bucco) are handmade. They make the dough, they make the filling, and they stuff and cut each ravioli by hand. The portions are oversized, and the prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive menu and use only Certified Angus Beef, many of the dishes can be seen on their Facebook page at spanosristoranteitaliano and they open daily at 4pm. 7 days a week. With homemade desserts like the NY cheesecake, tiramisu, bread pudding and apizza dolce (Italian ricotta cheesecake) and delicious Cappuccino to finish off your meal, you can't go wrong at Spano's!

Can be good if you stick to the basics, don't venture into the more complex dishes, as the execution isn't there. This place used to be better when Joe was always there. The past few times we were there chef Joe wasn't. Perhaps that's why it's not as good as it used to be. Will go again if hungry really... More

This is one of the first times I've done take out from here. Everything was perfect. For 19 bucks I got a chicken parm meal that was enough for 4! Includes pasta, salad and bread for that great price. Since there is often a wait to get in and we live nearby the take out is a great way to... More

My party of six arrived in the late evening, to an almost full house. We were greeted and seated within minutes. The menu was extensive, which did not make for an easy decisions, but our waitress was patient and pleasant. I ordered a cup of pasta fazoli which had a good balance between the pasta and beans. Everyone else had... More

I find the atmosphere in this restaurant to be warm and inviting, but Alas one cannot live on atmosphere alone. Although the portions are quite generous, the food on several occasions was just "meh". It reminds me of what we call "Merican's" This is what Mericans think is good Italian food. Sorry, it is a competitive business and I calls... More

Thought the food was excellent but service was lacking! Think they cater to their regulars but forget the new visitors. Watched my waitress carry on a long conversation when I wanted to order coffee...

Have been going to Spano's for years, since their food is very good, and they give you lots of it. The calamari is consistently plentiful, tender and delicious. The entree's are very large, always enough to bring some home. My only complaint is that is is always so noisy! Wish they could somehow remedy that. However, I will be back!

We have dined here at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed except by the long wait. Tables of 7 or more can make a reservation but even then if the previous diners are taking their time you may have to wait. The best dish is their Chicken Parm but you can't go wrong with anything on their... More

Was there the other night for a business dinner. As always the food and service was excellent. Had the Shrimp Molly as an app and the Veal Parm for dinner. Veal was so soft almost did not even have to chew. Would come eat there 7 days a week if it was not an hour drive each way. Only thing... More

The food was so so and I felt very rushed by our server. They seem to want to turn tables quicker than you can eat your dinner. The hostess is constantly looking to see what stage you are in at the table. All restaurants have to keep an eye out for their next guests but they should do it on... More
