Description: Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant just like you see in Brooklyn, with a quaint interior featuring oversized comfy booths and Italian music to complete the ambiance. The restaurant gets bustling after 6pm, and on weekends there can be quite a wait. The good news is they're open 7 days a week, so you can get the same amazing food on Tuesday without a wait. Speaking of the food, its authentic old world Italian prepared by Chef Joseph Spano. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen...fresh local fish and seafood, the highest quality veal, cut and pounded daily for the Veal dishes, Same with the chicken and eggplant, all prepared fresh daily. Spano's marinara sauce is the original winner of the Boss of the sauce contest sponsored by a local radio station and featuring all of the Shores Italian restaurants, as voted by a panel of judges and the general public. All of our ravioli, cheese filled, lobster, and specialty (like roasted butternut squash, or Osso Bucco) are handmade. They make the dough, they make the filling, and they stuff and cut each ravioli by hand. The portions are oversized, and the prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive menu and use only Certified Angus Beef, many of the dishes can be seen on their Facebook page at spanosristoranteitaliano and they open daily at 4pm. 7 days a week. With homemade desserts like the NY cheesecake, tiramisu, bread pudding and apizza dolce (Italian ricotta cheesecake) and delicious Cappuccino to finish off your meal, you can't go wrong at Spano's!

After finding Spanos listed on Trip Advisor, we decided to try them. A rough start without a reservation on a Friday night. But the hostess was so polite. A Real Italian welcome. The staff was attentive to our needs. Seemed as if we had several waitresses. The food, authentic and plentiful. Even after our meal the hostess made sure to... More

The food was absolutely delicious and the sauce was excellent. The ambiance and accomodations were great! This was my first time eating at this restaurant, but I would highly recommend it. I had a wonderful seafood dinner!!

We arrived a little after opening time at 4:00PM and were seated immediately. We passed on the appetizers and ordered our entrees. Ours came with soup or salad, potato croquette or Italian vegetable medley. My wife ordered the chicken francese, and I ordered the flounder francese. We both ordered salads, but mine had an overabundance of balsamic vinaigrette. We both... More

My wife, 14-month old baby, and I went out to eat after a day at the beach a couple of weeks back. We found Spano's simply because of the good rating here at TripAdvisor. However, we'll never go back. We were seated for our meal (we had the cheese-filled gnocchi, which was quite tasty, and is the only reason this... More

Dear Bernard, I was waiting for your review, as when you left that night, you stated that if we didn't acquiesce to your demands, you "would write a bad review", and true to your word, here it is. Let's get the facts straight. Right on our menu it clearly states that there is a sharing charge of $5.00. You don't... More

If you visit Point Pleasant Beach and don't eat here then shame on you! The food is amazing, portions huge, prices reasonable and staff extremely hospitable. They don't take reservations so you may have to wait a few minutes but it's worth it. Also it's BYOB for those who care to have a glass of wine with dinner. The best... More

Great restaurant to take your family. Price was reasonable and food was good. Wish I could have taken a doggy bag but was on vacation and no place to put it.

Tucked away in a small store front, we both enjoyed a terrific meal! The portions were generous from the appetizer to the salad to the entrees. Absolutely delicious. Our waitress (Ann-Marie) was extremely courteous, friendly and attentive. Put Spanos on your must visit list.

Drove to Spanos for dinner last night - this by far is the best Italian food in Jersey. We had Shrimp Molly, calamari which were spectacular! The kids had Parmigiana and Chicken Francaise. The portions were huge and they said it was the best meal they ever had! My husband and I both had the lobster tail and crab cakes... More

I was here with my wife, son, daughter-in-law and 2 grand daughters. It was a Sunday afternoon in June. I know they normally have long lines waiting. They take reservations for 7 or more but not on Saturdays. The food was excellent and a great value. Fried calamari appetizer was great and everyone loved their meal.

Food was fantastic and VERY reasonable priced. It is BYO which helps keep the costs down. Everything was great - great food, service, etc. we were with a larger party (10 ppl) and still everyone had a great meal and was so pleased. Definately go again.
