Description: Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant...
Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant just like you see in Brooklyn, with a quaint interior featuring oversized comfy booths and Italian music to complete the ambiance. The restaurant gets bustling after 6pm, and on weekends there can be quite a wait. The good news is they're open 7 days a week, so you can get the same amazing food on Tuesday without a wait. Speaking of the food, its authentic old world Italian prepared by Chef Joseph Spano. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen...fresh local fish and seafood, the highest quality veal, cut and pounded daily for the Veal dishes, Same with the chicken and eggplant, all prepared fresh daily. Spano's marinara sauce is the original winner of the Boss of the sauce contest sponsored by a local radio station and featuring all of the Shores Italian restaurants, as voted by a panel of judges and the general public. All of our ravioli, cheese filled, lobster, and specialty (like roasted butternut squash, or Osso Bucco) are handmade. They make the dough, they make the filling, and they stuff and cut each ravioli by hand. The portions are oversized, and the prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive menu and use only Certified Angus Beef, many of the dishes can be seen on their Facebook page at spanosristoranteitaliano and they open daily at 4pm. 7 days a week. With homemade desserts like the NY cheesecake, tiramisu, bread pudding and apizza dolce (Italian ricotta cheesecake) and delicious Cappuccino to finish off your meal, you can't go wrong at Spano's!

What a wonderful experience we had at Spano's restaurant in Point Pleasant Beach. The food was absolutely delicious, although we have met Joe the talented chef several times, you thought your grandmother was back in the kitchen making the dishes. You can tell how fresh everything is, must try the crab cakes, and just how everything is presented. From the... More

I was looking for a restaurant to take my wife for our anniversary. We were going to be on the Jersey shore so I looked up local restaurants. When I looked at Spano'e website, I decided we should try it. I am so glad we did. The food is just about the best Italian food we've eaten. I wasn't aware... More

A weekday evening, my family including young children were seated near a table of men who cursed and were offensive to women and various ethnic groups. They were unnerving men who spoke loudly of family business. We advised staff that we were uncomfortable and we were assured they would discreetly have a word with the men. I can't say if... More

Everytime I go here, I never go home hungry. You get so much that you have enough for a meal or 2 for the next day. My husband and I fight over the leftovers the next day because the food is just... Amazing! Although there are some nights (especially in the summer) there is a wait, but to be honest... More

This is a little BYOB in the Point Pleasant downtown. I have been here before and it continues to be great!. Portions are huge and quality dishes. Rice ball and calamari apps enjoyed by all. My Lasagna was very good- meatballs and sausage in the lasagna. A large 'brick', like everyone else I took some home. My 23 year old... More

Dear Don, Your review made me laugh (which isn't easy during the summer months). We LOVE our obnoxious blond Maitre D'! Her name is Jacque and she's the only person who can keep some semblance of organization during a busy Saturday night. I'm sure if you had to do her job on a Saturday night, you'd never come back. It's... More

Spano's rivals some of the best restaurants we ate at in Paris and Venice Italy. My wife and I had half of a calamari appetizer, and we split Paste Tre Madre with shrimp, lobster, chicken, artichokes, and Tasso in linguini. It was delicious, and more than enough to split. The servers were very efficient and the atmosphere was very Italian.

You may have to wait for a table because everyone comes here. Great atmosphere - very comfortable but not too casual. A nice evening out at the beach.

The food was good but it was loud to the point that it was not pleasant to dine here and the service was poor. They need to work on the acoustics to figure out how to lessen the noise level. More importantly, the service left a lot to be desired. The busgirl actually put all of the dirty forks and... More
