Description: Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant...
Spano's Ristorante Italiano is a wonderful little store front restaurant just like you see in Brooklyn, with a quaint interior featuring oversized comfy booths and Italian music to complete the ambiance. The restaurant gets bustling after 6pm, and on weekends there can be quite a wait. The good news is they're open 7 days a week, so you can get the same amazing food on Tuesday without a wait. Speaking of the food, its authentic old world Italian prepared by Chef Joseph Spano. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen...fresh local fish and seafood, the highest quality veal, cut and pounded daily for the Veal dishes, Same with the chicken and eggplant, all prepared fresh daily. Spano's marinara sauce is the original winner of the Boss of the sauce contest sponsored by a local radio station and featuring all of the Shores Italian restaurants, as voted by a panel of judges and the general public. All of our ravioli, cheese filled, lobster, and specialty (like roasted butternut squash, or Osso Bucco) are handmade. They make the dough, they make the filling, and they stuff and cut each ravioli by hand. The portions are oversized, and the prices are very reasonable. They have an extensive menu and use only Certified Angus Beef, many of the dishes can be seen on their Facebook page at spanosristoranteitaliano and they open daily at 4pm. 7 days a week. With homemade desserts like the NY cheesecake, tiramisu, bread pudding and apizza dolce (Italian ricotta cheesecake) and delicious Cappuccino to finish off your meal, you can't go wrong at Spano's!

The food coming out of this kitchen is phenomenal!!!! Now this is great Italian food. Portions are very big and sinfully delicious. Everything was top notch. You will not be disappointed with this place. I could go on and on about the food because it was soo good. I would make it a point to go here for dinner every... More

Six of us ate at Spanos for my 50th birthday. I had been wanting to try this place and was not disappointed. The Shrimp Molly and Calamari appetizers were huge and sooo good!! Kids all got the Chicken Parm which could have fed 3 people...it was huge! I got the Salmon which was just OK, not really very good actually,... More

We are pretty local and we find Spanos is pretty consistent in it's food and service. It can get crowded and wait time can be long. It's a small quaint little place. You can BYOB which is real nice. This visit was bothersome due to a short wait time of 25 minutes. Another couple came in 15 minutes into our... More

We are in Point Pleasant Beach a lot in the summer and I must confess for years shunned Spano's. Why? In honesty I guess it was a bit of snobbery as we think of ourselves as "foodies" and assumed Spano's was just another run-of-the-mill "Joisey Italian" without tablecloths and full of loud vacationers. Well it is very often full of... More

Four of us wanted to have a friends night dinner on a Monday evening. We chose Spano's because we have been there before and really liked both the food and atmosphere. Also, it is a BYOB which we like. Now, this is a small and cozy restaurant with a casual and inviting environment. A space where you can expect to... More

We took photos this time. We couldn't make up our mind on appetizers so we got the calamari, mussels and the cold antipasto plate. Amazing flavors and then the dinner plates came. Once again the food was out of this world!!!! Way too much food to eat so we had it wrapped for lunch the next day!! Lucky us.

The food at this Italian restaurant is wonderful. I've eaten at great Italian restaurants in various cities, and this is a good as any. The servers are pleasant and know the menu well. My children and wife loved the food as well. Price is more than reasonable. This is a bring your own booze.
