Local spot with nice views

Enjoyed a late lunch on the porch. Excellent lobster bisque nice and hot with chunks of lobster...lobster roll ok and the steamers were tasty ,good service and friendly staff. Wish we would have known it was BYOB, reminded us of spots in Maine.

When a restaurant with a long-standing tradition changes owners, it often loses the ambience that made it so special to so many customers. Not so with Red's. This seasonal BYO on the Manasquan Inlet continues to shine under new owners who wisely decided not to trifle with tradition. We had dinner here shortly after it opened in April and remain... More

Went foot a friend's birthday lunch. One of her favorites is lobster roll and not many shore restaurants serve lobster roll. The lobster was plentiful, flavorful and delicious. I also had the Manhattan CLAM Chowder which was filled with tender clams. My personal preference would be fresh carrots and a little more thyme, but the tender clams made the chowder... More

Red's has indoor and outdoor seating but different menus for each. Outside is a walk up place your order type of quick dining. Where the indoor is a full sit down menu. Unfortunately the regular menu is not as interesting as the specials menu that is very creative and fresh. They should update the menu to reflect their talent.

We are so sorry Rahn that you had any experience that was less than perfect at our establishment. I am a little concerned because there is not nor has there ever been any staff member that does not speak fluent English. We actually closed for the season on November 2, 2014 and I see the review was written after the... More

First time being in New Jersey and I was taken here for some lunch. Lobster bisque was so flavorful, I want to just eat that. It's so good.

We live in Point Pleasant so there are always many choices as far as where to get a good plate of fish. Red's is a long time favorite. There are always an array of tantalizing specials in addition to there regular fare. BYOB or enjoy the Boylan brand soda they offer made with cane sugar and so satisfying. The prices... More

Nothing bad to report at Red's, but nothing great either. The Rustic feel along the water, the outside dining (closed for season), the cozy inside was nice and reminiscent of a place out of Maine. The food was decent too, but the portions for what I had was laughable. Kept it simple with a fried shrimp and scallop platter, side... More

Dropped in for a late lunch...what a delightful surprise! The waiter was efficient, gracious and knowledgeable. The lobster bisque was the best I've ever had....recommended it to another diner and they were equally in awe. I had the lunch combo that includes soup and 1/2 sandwich plus coleslaw. I chose the filet of fish sandwich which was made of tilapia... More

This place is the real deal in every way. If the seafood wasn't great, I would not have awarded 5 stars, but the truth is that the staff and service was EQUALLY GREAT! My wife and I felt welcomed and appreciated for our patronage. I can't imagine why anyone would have an issue with the new ownership - lovely people!... More
